I'm looking for a program that will help me to catalog my favorite recipes and make them easily searchable. Is there such a thing? Does anyone know where I could get it?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks!

What I have been doing for years is to "type" the recipe up when I get it and give it a name such as "Cherry Pie 1" and save it to my computer in a Word file segregating the different types such as pies, cakes, stews, meats, etc.. Once I have all of the recipes saved to these files, I maintain an Excel spreadsheet with all of the recipe names listed with a description and location (in the Word files). Doing a sort on the Excel file to find a specific recipe that I am looking for yields the Word file location on my computer - I then either read it or print a copy to use in the kitchen. This has worked very well for years - once you get used to it, the recipe card holder goes into the garage sale. I hope this helps.

I purchased mine at Best By-- It's called Cookin'. It let's you enter your own recipes, gives you the food values, calculates values per serving, and it lets you adjust a recipe up or down once you have it enter in. There are a few drawbacks such as it doesn't spellcheck, grammer check or have special symbol insert like the degree circle. But on the whole it is the best one I have found and I used a few others. You can download a version from DVO.com. Also you get free up-grades. And I'll give you all the tips you want in using it. Let's of luck!!

Easy . . . You don't have to reinvent the wheel. 1. Type "recipe organizer" above in the search box and click "Search." You'll get dozens and dozens of ideas. 2. Cruise the web. Do a search on "recipe organizer" and find something you like.

I've used Mastercook/Cooking Light for years. The program comes w recipes (and pics), and you can add your own. You can find it on ebay.
