I'm a French student studying for one year in JNU in Delhi and I have to write a paper on French wines in India.

Therefore, I would be glad :
- to have any kind of information on French wines in India
- to know your thoughts or opinions on French wines (even negative ones of course)
- to know what the words "French wines" make you think of, what image you have of it
- or even, if you've never tasted French wine, what prejudices you have for or against them, and whether you would like to try them or not.

Many thanks to any one answering this question. Of course, you don't have to be an expert in wines to answer it, and it's even better if you're not an expert. :-D

French wines... Monbazillac !

And no... I'm afraid that, even in civilised France, wine is NOT served in Macdonald's !

1. I don't know much about French wines in India.
2. I love French wines. I find that they are more balanced and interesting than Californian or Italian wines. Loire whites are the best in the world.
3. French wine makes me think of positive experiences with friends and family.
4. I'm French-American, and I've been to France. I love the people and the culture, so I have no negative stereotypes.

When I think of French wines, I think of Bordeaux wines. French wines have a reputation for quality wines and I suppose that the reputation is earned because there are, in fact, many great French wines.

While French wines are noted for their quality, most people on a daily basis drink wines of lesser quality. Wine is known for being the drink of choice in France. I'm not sure if that's really true. I've heard they even serve wine at McDonalds in France. I have no idea if this is really true.

Good luck with your paper.

When you say "French Wines", I think refined & rustic @ the same time. I guess that's because the French have perfected wine making, drinking & cooking over so many years. Grape culture is not separate from French culture.

Mmmm... Cotes du Rhone
