Singles & Dating - 6 August 2007

Im 25 and having a real hard time finding attractive women. im decently good looking, intelligent and charming, of course not perfect, im kinda shy when first meeting people.
I dont go to college and my job is filled with people who is a lot older than i am. I tried match.com but as you know is a scam since most of the people who cantact you dissapear after you've paid your next suscription. The other personal websites that i know ( including yahoo personals) most of the time feauture women who are not appealing at all. Some people say; "Go and meet women in the real world" but this is just plain stupid, how are you suppossed to go and say hi to a complete stranger?? I mean is frustrating since the only places where you can meet someone seem to be school or work.
I was considering myspace since there is plenty of pretty girls there who are single . What do you think?
Please dont reply saying that im superficial, you cant blame for trying to find someone i feel attracted to.

My class went on a field trip via train. We are college students and the tickets we had didn't have reserved seats, thus allowing us to sit where we pleased. So, this guy from my class sat by me on the way there. We spoke for almost the whole 3 hr. ride about ourselves, our goals, and all that stuff. We hung out together the whole day, and he sat by me again on the way back. He was really tired and decided to sleep. He kept leaning on me as he was sleeping, and he had a lot of room left on his side. He woke up, and I told him he was taking up half of my chair and laughed. He apologized and leaned away from me. Soon after, he was leaning on me. I began to stroke his fingers just to bother him since I was bored, and wanted to see if he was really sleeping. He then intwined our fingers and left them like that. At one point we let go, I think it was to get my phone our something. Anyway, when I was done, we held went back to holding hands. I have a hard time meeting new girls... I have a great personality (I think...haha) and I often see girls looking at me. But I don't have the guts to go over and just start talking. If I see a girl looking at me or making eye contact, do I just go walking over by myself? What if she's with friends or family? And what is the first thing I should say?

Ok. I met this guy and I wasn't interested at first. He kept telling my friend how much he liked me and ect. Well I thought he was fun to hang out with and talk to so I hung out with him. I started to like him, but I kept my feelings back. Then one night he was pointing out the different constalations in the sky, and I noticed him in a different way. So I started liking him, then all of a sudden he doesn't call for like a day or so. Then calls and picks up right were he left off. I have kissed him twice since then. This weekend came up and he didn't call on thursday, but friday night he calls needing someone to talk to, and he is all upset about the relationship he just got out of. Saying he didn't just leave a girl he left his family(She had a little boy) What??? How am I ?? Uhhh....??? my boyfriend and i just went on our date and at one point we were making out and we were both sitting down in his car. and i can so tell that he definitley likes my kisses.. but he started like gently shaking or trembling while we were making out and i was trying to figure out if it was me or him and i finally figured out it was him. and asked him about it and laughed but then we just continued and he was still shaking! what does this mean? is this good? or should i stop? or go further or what?

I have been seeing someone for 3 years. We live together.

Okay. I need advice. I didn't want to turn to Yahoo Answers for this
because it's a really, really long story, and I felt like I could
deal with it on my own. But I can't. So all I ask for is serious and
sincere answers, because this means a lot to me. And if you can't think
of any, then I at least hope the story will provide entertainment,
although it is a bit sad. And thank you so much for those of
you who gave it a shot.

Last month, I went to Italy. It was for a pre-college camp, but it
was really low-key and we stayed at the professor's house in Assisi.
Since Assisi is a relatively small town, we went there pretty much
every day and got to know it really well. On July 4th, Professor
Meredith decided to invite all of her American/ English-speaking friends
over for a party so that we could all have a July 4th, even though weren't
in the US. Lots of people came, and I met a guy.

He's American, but he lives in Assisi and he's two years younger than me. We spent almost
every day together after that Independence Day dinner, and I had so much fun with him. It didn't
take me long to realize that I was really attracted to him. But after all that time, even though
it felt so short, he had to leave Assisi to go on vacation too. I was heartbroken and I didn't want him to go, because
I didn't think I'd see him again after that, even though I had his phone number. And I kept thinking
it was just a silly crush, but then I guess I realized it wasn't. I wasin love with him,
and I was scared.

So I wrote him a note while we were eating dinner with the group the night before he left.
I told him how I felt and how stupid I felt to be asking him out even though he lived
so far away. I was going to give it to him after dinner in the car before he got out,
but he had to go in a seperate car from me because the car I was in was too crowded.
So I gave it to my friend Molly to give to him before he got dropped off. I said goodbye
to him, and that was that. I drove off.

Meanwhile, in the other car, Molly gave it to him and told him not to open it until he got home.
He was confused but agreed. I checked my cell phone that night and he didn't call.
Later, Molly told me that I should forget about him and that it was totally
unrealistic to think it would work out.

Two nights later, I got a text message from him. He asked me how I was doing
and that yes, he would like to go out with me, but we wouldn't be together
very much. I was ecstatic. I told him that I didn't care that I wouldn't see
him, and that I missed him and wanted to give it a chance. He said alright, we'd
spend time together when he got back.

We texted eachother and called eachother for the next two weeks. They were a hard
two weeks but I knew I'd see him and that was all that mattered to me. But then,
my professor told me shortly after that we would be in Florence when he came back to
Assisi. I was so upset that I couldn't even take it. I told him what was happening
and he said he'd come up to Florence by train.

Then the day finally came when I had to pick him up at the train station.
For some reason, when he got off the train, he was incredibly awkward and didn't
know what to say. My friends were confused and let me tell you, so was I.
I asked him what was wrong, and he said nothing, he was just tired. He wasn't
being his usual, outgoing self and everyone was wondering why.

Then we split off from the group and walked around Florence together. We
talked and I finally asked him, "what are we?" He said "I guess since you
live so far...we're friends, but more..." and I said that it made me sad
to think about leaving him in Italy, and he told me that if we stayed friends,
both of us wouldn't be sad.

Well he was wrong. I said goodbye to him and it felt like the saddest moment
of my life. He called me a couple times that night when I was driving to Venice,
but I didn't pick up because I was so sure that it was over.

A few days later, he was still calling me. I finally sent him a text message,
and I asked him, "If I went to Assisi tomorrow on the train, would you want
to see me one more time?" he sent a message back and said that he couldn't
because he was getting ready to leave again the next day. So then I sent him
another message and he didn't respond. I knew that was the last time I'd talk
to him.When I came back to the states two weeks ago, I just couldn't stop crying.
I've been like that ever since and I can't handle it. I know he'll hook up
with tons of other girls while I'm gone and it hurts to think about it.
I sent him an email to his email adress. I told him that I was working a lot
and getting ready to go to school in the fall and that besides all that, I missed
him and that I would come back to visit my friend who lives in his town
for winter break, and that we could hang out then.
He sent me an email back a few days later, and told me that he just got back from his trip,
he was coming to visit his family in the states this week, and "I guess
we will see eachother in the winter, write back".
It was really short and it felt almost cold and formal. I wrote another email to him
yesterday and he hasn't responded. Well, that's it. Thanks for reading and I hope you don't think I'm insane,
cause I'm not. Now, for my questions:

1. What the hell is going through his mind? Does he miss me at all?
2. Why did he write such a formal/distant email, and at the same time
tell me to respond?
3. Should I go back and see him in the winter?
4. Does he still feel anything for me or has he moved on?
5. If I do go back in the winter, do you think anything will happen
between us?

For those of you that read all of that, I applaud you because it was the most
exhausting thing ever. I think I'm gonna go to Starbucks now and contemplate
why I wrote such a long question on here. Thank you so much for your advice,
you have no idea how much I appreciate it.

I'm a 14 year old and everytime me and my friends go to the pool there is always at least 2 guy checking me out. 2 weeks ago, this guy I guess really like me, he kept looking and smiling at me. And I found out later that he kept looking at my but. He did try and talk to me. Then this total geeky guy kept trying to talk to me and everytime I would walk up the stairs he would be watching me. Then there was these two lifeguards, one kept secertly watching me. Like when I standing a few feet away from his chair where he was sitting watching the pool, he kept turning and looking at me. I was talking to my friends. He also watched me leaving the pool? Then this other lifeguard kept walking real close to me when I was waiting for the ball to be thrown back to me from my friends. I mean close I could lean back and I could touch him. He did that another time too. And he had plenty of room for him not to walk so close. What does this all mean? i'm going back to the pool next week!! Help!!

Do women find guys giving them a flower lame? If hes a good looking stranger whos across the room from you and comes over to give you a flower, is that stupid? I broke up with my boyfriend of two years when things got really serious. I love him but wanted to be sure this was what I wanted. I dated a couple of guys over three with no real connection. My ex was always my number 1. I put him first and we hung out all the time. He would always tell me how much he loved me and how badly he wanted me back. He would say things like "If I was to ask you to marry me right now, would you say yes?" I answered, "I would say I have to think about it." I was terrified of the thought of "forever" which I think is a pretty valid fear. Which is weird because months earlier we were planning where our wedding was going to take place.

How do you deal with someone like this? I try to stay strong emotionally, but sometimes it really hurts me. This has been going on for about a year and I'm baffled how he can do this to someone he supposedly loves. I just notice that he is only like this towards me when he is going through his own personal issues and stressed out. For the most part, I try to stand clear, but other times I feel like I have to walk on eggshells with him. Does anyone have any suggestion with how to deal with this issue? I'm tired of being his "victim" and need to nip this in the bud ASAP. Any advice is appreciated.

I keep breaking up with my bfs..It's like the moment i get them i can't stand them. There was this one i was totally in luv with for like 8 months we broke up alot cuz of me but we still luved each other. Then he moved and i refused 2 d8 him while he was gone. I hooked up with another guy dated for a month broke it off. My boyfriend who I have been with almost 3 years and live with has jealousy trips. He constantly needs personal space, and usually takes that time to bring his work home. However, when I go out with friends, sister, etc, he gets uncomfortable. If I dont answer my cell phone he freaks out, even if I call right back. I dont go out to clubs or bars, just to restaurants or the mall. On one end, I feel ignored and pushed away by his needing space, on the other, I don't get his jealousy trips. Please advise.

please read this even though it is long

when i go to school i am not part of popular group or nerd group (i know that is a lot of stereotyping but its just so u get the idea). i have a group of friends who are in the middle of the cliques although a few of them have done stupid things. i still get along with everyone, and people dont have a problem talking to me. when it comes to boys many of them tease me and i have been told it is because they like me. as for some of the boys that i have found out like me, none of them ask me out. im not saying that im sad by it, but this summer for the first time i went to this beach club and a lot of the boys have been talking to me, and flirting with me A LOT. some follow me around, and they are nice to me, they also hang out with me, and even want to be my bf. what im asking is why do these boys (that go to diff towns and diff schools) treat me diff than boys @ school? i think that its bc of the people im friends wit?
