I have a hard time meeting new girls... I have a great personality (I think...haha) and I often see girls looking at me. But I don't have the guts to go over and just start talking. If I see a girl looking at me or making eye contact, do I just go walking over by myself? What if she's with friends or family? And what is the first thing I should say?

There are many daring things you can do to break ice. If she's with her father you can try this one (But I don't think I'm skilled enough yet to try it but I'll do it one of these days): Walk up to the father and with a dollar in your hand say: "Hey 'scuse me sir, you dropped your dollar. I'm a college student so I know how it is to lose money." Not only does it put you on a pedestal worthy of his daughters time and love but it makes you look like someone who might make it in life. If you can do this kudos to you...I'm waiting for the oppurtunity and the skill level. Here's one thing I did learn though: No matter what happens...rejection or not...if you approached, you won. You can never lose.

strange that i'm a girl and you're a boy, but the same things happen to me. well, i have a good excuse though, i am a girl! and the tradition is that the boys should make the first move! but on the other hand, this is not the case sometimes these days, cause women can make the first move too. but i think this is not what men really want. men want to remain ''the hunters'' even if they don't have the guts to try. i have the guts, but i'm a bit shy... and i have to admit that's i'm sick of waiting for the boy to make the first move, it could take for years!!! so, i might start making the first move myself! if you see someone looking at you, you don't have to go to her and flirt with her, unless you like her! if she's with friends or family, wait till she gets up for some reason, she will want to go to the wc eventually! if she sticks to her friens/family it means :1)she's too shy or 2) she doesn't want any surprises-good or bad. first thing to say would be: hi, how r u? i'm ..... . may i buy you a drink?

As a female, I think I would be more susceptible to an indirect approach. If I'm looking at you and smiling, make your way over to me without walking straight toward me. It creates anticipation: is he coming to see me? Stand beside me but don't speak yet, then look at me and smile as if you just noticed me - a nice, friendly, real smile. Say hello. Ask how I am. If there's something about the location (band playing, wedding reception, drink in my hand) that you can start a conversation on, do it.

You'll get a pretty good read on what she's thinking; women aren't going to look at you or pay attention if they don't want to converse with you. Just don't use corny pick up lines and be yourself. We like guys who are sincere.

hmm.. if you like her smile.. just walk by and say that.. not too hard to say, she can't possibly take offense and it's a cute conversation starter.. if it's the right person for you, trust me, you'll eventually end up talking to her somehow or another.. =)
