Has anyone lived through the heartbreak of watching your best friend get married?

i'm 30 & she's 31 and after 5 years of long distance, her bf decided to close the gap and propose to her. we've both developed an attraction to each other over the past year, but have maintained very clear respectful boundaries. but, as soon as she told me that the wedding date had been confirmed (i just came back from a long vacation and found out it's in 3 days...), i heard most succinctly the sound of my heart turning into glass and shattering into countless prickly shards.

while i feel immensely sad, i do not have the right to be heart broken and selfish. at the same time, i feel really happy for her because i know her fiance will take very good care of her. and in the end, their happiness together is most important. i want to support her but going to the wedding is gonna hurt me a lot :(

i feel like i'm playing julia roberts in "My Best Friend's Wedding"!

I really liked this guy for over a year he asked me to come over at least 45 times and I never did until like a week ago.The reason we never hung out was because I just got out of a bad relationship. I also needed to know I could handle a relationship with someone who is semi-paralyzed . So I went over and we hung out, got drunk, and made out. He was really into me and I liked him. The next day I stopped into his work told him I was gonna come over the next day and well wrecked my car when I told him he was cool with it supposedly. He still wants me to come over and hang out. Then the next day he makes a comment about no one ever wants to date a YES SIR kinda girl and Im like well I told you no plenty enough times when I blew you off and laughed and he exploded on me and then told me he doesnt ever see himself being with me as more then a friend, but then later changes his tune and tells me he needs to get to know more about me, nows hes kinda talking to me I dont know what to do?

How to get over this break up: I loved this guy and everything was perfect. We were faithful to each other. But recently we started arguing a lot so he ended our relationship. I still love that guy and I've been crying a lot since he left. He, on the other hand, is well off. He's flirting with other girls and he doesn't give a damn about me. We've spent great times together. But how he forgot them? How he forgot me so easily? It's been only 3 weeks and he hasn't even contact me. Does that mean he didn't care about me or really loved me? We've never argued before. Please help me forget him!

I've been having parties, and this one girl I didn't know well suddenly wanted to get with me at the party, and basically she's mine now. alot happened at the party, you know what I mean. man, she's real swet but kinda wild in some ways. anyway, I haven't been with a gril for quite a long time, and now I'm out of high school, but she is a senior, andright now we are on christmas break, we couldn't see each other during christmas time, but I'm gonna see her more. we talk on the phone but I can't find to say much, but she'll talk to me about anything and enjoy it, we can talk for hours. I just don't know what to say. basically we haven't said we are going out but everyone at the party were wondering if we were-- she was coming onto me really fast so I didn't know what to think, but she returns my calls, I thought she wouldn't and what happened at the party was going to be it.

i met this guy and have been going out for about 2 months. The first month was magical. He told me that he loved me everyday, and treated me like a princess. He told me that i was the one he wanted to marry and spend the rest of his life with. But after that month, he started getting busy with his work and basically had no time for me. i started getting paranoid and called him every now and then to ask what he was doing. i could sense that something was wrong because he was treating me differently. Now he wants a break, he said that he wants to concentrate on his career now because it is important to him, and said to give him a month to think our relationship through. Should i just forget about him?

I have a boyfriend in real life and I really like him. We have been together for half a year now. But just recently I met someone on and online game, runescape. I am truly in love with this guy and I could talk to him all night. We just have this connection I can't explain. This guy is amazing. you cant stop thinking about a girl, you cant fall asleep if shes mad at you, you keep waiting for her to call or text you not because you want to know where she is but because you just want to talk to her even if its just about something completly random, evry time you see her you feel good, everytime you hang out you dont want it to end, but time flys by too fast, if you see her sad youre sad, you never want to say anything wrong...

In advance I want to forgive this guy but I'm finding it very hard to let him know how he can be forgiven because I don't know how I can... I was 'seeing' a guy but it wasn't exclusive. I'd been out with him and his friends however and been held to the promise that I would make them my friends too. On one night he had called and 1) said I love you 2) invited my friend and I to an afterparty during which he and my friend went into another room and started making out naked. They claimed no memory of it in the morning. Obviously I needed a lot of space however and avoided them for a few days. When he finally expalined he apologised for a very drunken mistake. After spending 3 hours hanging out together just talking etc he asks if it would be ok if he kept sleeping with my friend. I obviously freaked out and he said he didn't realise she was a close friend. I need to 1) make it clear how wrong this is and how he needs to make it up... but I want to forgive him... and I don't know how to...

I was with this man for 5 years. I thought we were in love. THOUGHT. I felt it, I didn't want anyone else and was ready to settle down... He asked me to marry him, I accapted and he called one month before our wedding date and broke it off because his life was downhill and he was deppressed. So I let him, but was sad, yet undersanding... Come to find out 3 months later, his mother told me he was dating someone else and planning a wedding with her too! THEN, he stops talking to me and dissappears... He calls me out of the blue crying about how he loves me and my dauther and misses us... He promises to make it all better that he can change and loves me only. I still answer the phone when he calls and talk to him and listen... I feel something for him still and I don't understand what I'm doing by keeping him in my life when I feel he will just break my heart again... I don't know if I should believe him or distrust him and move on...Help! I'm lost and I feel like a ship on the sea!

Ok, so there is this guy I like, and I've liked him for the last three years. We dont talk much but we have shared moments. haha.
well back to subject. My friends think that he likes me back, but I am not so sure. My friend has caught him staring at me before, even though they were very subtle. We share the same intrests ect. Sometimes I feel that he hates me because he does in my opinion everything he can to avoid me! It drives me insane because I am quite poplular at school and I talk to everyone yet when I get around him I am at a loss for words.
I have been literally picked up and dragged to talk to him so I am pretty sure he knows unless his girl radar sucks haha.

I just dont know what to do! HELP! Any advice? Any type of signs that a shy guy would be intrested?

Yes I know this is another one of those EX and should I get back questions but I do miss her. We were together for over 4 years and never really had problems. I started suffering from Depression and she couldn't handle it and didn't know how to deal. I have conquored this and no longer suffer from it. It's been over 1 1/2 years since we were together...but I feel like she is my soul mate. Do you think we should give it another go? I do sometimes keep in contact with her through e-mail or a message on yahoo messenger at least 1 time a month.

I miss my exboyfriend but i can't bear to let him go. The thoought of having to let go of him is even more painful then getting whipped twenty times around. This one guy that I like knows that I usually hangout with my crew. When he's around he would always see us together. In other words, he tries to get along with my crew. I don't know if he knows that I like him thats why he's using my friends to torture me. How? He would always try get my attention and after he has gotten it. He would ignore me and talk to my girlfriends. He gives my friends very nice comments and tends to ignore me. Although I know I'm better in whatever he comments them about. I wonder if he's using my crew against me so I can standout obviously in a scene in which I'm unaccepted. (like odd one out ) He talks nicely with me privately but when my crew comes around and joins in the conversation. He walks away from me. what is his needs of torturing me?

I am American. Age 24. Yet to have a girl friend (!!??!! - True). I want to propose for a 21 yrs girl resides next to our home. They are Indians and have different culture. She likes me and I like her. We spoke about this many times, but could not come to a decision. Also she is bit shy and home attached like many Indians. They have a custom of Arranged Marriage (!!!).
