Marriage & Divorce - 6 April 2007

We have just been given a BIG contract in New Orleans. It is at least a year long, maybe two. I am in SC with my daughter. He is currently looking for us a house there, so that we can join him at the end of the school year.

My family is NOT going to like me moving there. It is far away from GA and they think it is a dangerous city. (We will be living in another parish outside of New Orleans).
Any ideas on how to make all this easier? Easier on my family and my daughter?

How do you deal with a mother who makes you feel guilty about leaving a man you're involved with? We've been together for almost four years now and we share a child in common. I'm terribly mistreated to say the least. She's aware of his past but doesn't want to hear how bad the problem has become. I'm told that I should stay and try to work things out for the sake of our child. What can I do to convince my mother that moving on with my life is the best decision for me and my child?

what is the next step in a 7 yr marriage if trust and communication is not there? He doesnt want marriage counseling. he thinks this will all go away? It wont tell me how he feels and cant decide (sp) if he still wants to stay married or not...How long does it take for a man to make up his mind..there are 2 kids involved and he doesnt like confrontation....we have had the perfect married up until the last 6 months.

We're drinking whiskey and cola and he pours like 3 shots in my first drink and I say, "Wow, that's a good drink." And so for my second drink he pours 4 shots and I'm just about finished that drink now and I'm going to ask him for another soon. Should I be frightened? We've only been drinking for an hour.

I have a good friend who is a male and he got married to another friend of mine. They have been married for almost 3 years and recently he found out that last year she cheated on him. She didn't tell him until another freind slipped and said something. He confronted her and she admitted to it but said she was sorry and loves him and will never do it again.
