The biggest reason and alot of things fall under this is disillusionment. Today alot of young people get married at a young age only to find themselves in a marriage where they are depressed only because the marriage didnt turn out to be what they either thought it would be or hoped. This is usually what happens when the honeymoon period ends and where true love starts. But instead of digging in and fighting they become disillusioned with marriage itself and each other by not living up to their expectations and just choose to divorce as the easier way out. This disillusion causes many problems such as abuse, fights, etc. which can lead to abdonment, affairs to cover up a toubled marriage, assaults, and more. Most refuse to admit any problem and thus refus professional help so divorces go up and divorce attorneys get richer every day.

Reasons why, infidelity, communication, sex and stress. Because society has made it acceptable to give up rather than work on the marriage. Marriage is hard work and it takes two people not just one. A word to the wise about marriage, if people would enter into marriage with the thought of what they could do to enrich there lives's through marriage they would be far better off. In marriage, giving is more important than receiving and with that comes love and respect. Good luck on your assignment I hope I helped you! I've been married now for 28 years and the years haven't always been happy but with a little perseverance love prevails and so does marriage.

Alot of people these days marry because they see a brighter future for themselves with that other person. When you have new hope in your life it can feel alot like love. What most people don't understand is when you marry someone it is really supposed to be a vow that you will stay with that person no matter what hardship comes your way including if you become distant with your mate. Stress of everyday life can kill the romantic feeling two people enjoy so much.

Money - financial issues is the number one contributing factor to divorces as debt causes lots of stress between couples and leads to arguements and eventually seperating.
other factors are
*infidelity (not being able to concieve a child)
*a partner being unfaithful
*physical and emotional abuse
those are the top four reasons in my book anyway hope they helped

You can lump it up (all the reasons -- adultry, money issues, problems with famly, substance abuse, etc.) into one simple reason:
A relationship between two people can only take so much strife before it's completely destroyed.

Lack of communication
All couples have issues about money, sex, parenting, etc. All of these issues can be overcome if the couple learns and uses proper communication.
