Marriage & Divorce - 1 August 2006

We have plans of getting married but my Boyfriends ex wife is very uncooperative. We tried to get in touch with her brother just to get the date and place where she filed the divorce but she instructed the brother not to give her contact number to us. She filed the divorce when we were living abroad. She didn't even send us a copy of the divorce decree. It is quiet hard to check every state to verify when it was finalized.

How about a chimpanzee?

My understanding is bestiality is wrong and immoral, much less a "loving" relationship with another species. However, should I be able to argue the definition of Marriage in order to make it legal?

Isn't that what homosexuals are doing? They CAN legally get married. Just to someone of the opposite sex. JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE! But now they want preferential treatment...because. They need the definition changed to suit their needs.

Should my widower grandfather be able to marry his male room mate just so they both get the 10-15% tax cut? They don't love each other. Most of the time they don't even like each other. And they sure as hell aren't gay. So should they be allowed to get married just to save money on taxes?

look im a girl and i wanted to go through this in an unbiased way.we see 2nd marriages as disgusting but nowadays almost evry1 has got a mistress an affair going on.To hav a wife strait forward is better than all the deception.a 2nd wife has access to all the property of her husband but wat does the mistress do if she gets pregnant????wheres the protection or financial backup???we know there r more women than man and if all the men are marred the left over women wat will they do???Its ok for the women as she has a wider choice cuz she can choose from married and unmarried me.The only disadvantage vill be for the 1st wife but then y do we always think of ourselves?

my husband left about a month and half ago. He is having a relationship with someone else. I just want to get over this, and get on with my life.. I'm wondering if I start dating would that put me in the same catergory as him " a loser". He has said horrible and discusting things to me. He has broken me into a million pieces. We have been together for 14 years and married for 8, no children. He cheated on me for 2 years and when i found out we seperated for 8 months but i forgave him and we got back together. I feel bad about this so please give me some suggestions on what you think. I just got married 10 months ago. For Christmas my Mother in law and father in law gave me this fancy Waterford crystal glass. They were so excited to give it to me. Then just yesterday they gave me another one for my birthday. I hate crystal. My mother never liked it, my sisters don't like it and I think it looks really tacky. I'm more of a crate and barrel kind of girl. I know this sounds really selfish though. But I hate that they spend all this money on things that I really don't like at all. In fact I could honestly say that I HATE crystal. And I will never display it in my home. So now every year I am going to have to pretend that I love that expensive crystal? What should I do? What is the right and polite thing to do?
