look im a girl and i wanted to go through this in an unbiased way.we see 2nd marriages as disgusting but nowadays almost evry1 has got a mistress an affair going on.To hav a wife strait forward is better than all the deception.a 2nd wife has access to all the property of her husband but wat does the mistress do if she gets pregnant????wheres the protection or financial backup???we know there r more women than man and if all the men are marred the left over women wat will they do???Its ok for the women as she has a wider choice cuz she can choose from married and unmarried me.The only disadvantage vill be for the 1st wife but then y do we always think of ourselves?

If I'm understanding your question correctly you're assuming that second wives were prior mistresses of married men and that's how they became the second wife. This is not generally the case. Most women are not second wives because they were having an affair with a married man who then left his wife for them because, most often, married men *don't* leave their wives for their mistresses, even though they usually say they will.
Men and women who have been divorced or widowed get married the second time for the same reasons people get married the first time - to be with someone who makes them happy.

Hey, unfortunately, that's life. If a first marriage doesn't work out, for whatever reason, why would it be disgusting to fall in love again, and re-marry. This goes for men as well as women. If a man or a woman for that matter, decides to have an affair, that's where the digusting part comes in. People like this do not have respect for themselves, let a lone the other partner. And even worse is the other woman or man. If you're attracted to married person, why in the hell would you put yourself in the position of being second fiddle? Most of the time that person is not going to leave their spouse for you!!! And if they do, what's to say they will be faithful to you!!! What are the odds of that? Now that's the disgusting part.

Yes I feel there should be countless marriges and here is why.
People will get married for any reason when they don't love the person they are married to.
Like me, I got married to this woman because I got her pregnant and in this state if you aren't married to the person then when the baby is born the man will not be able to get join or full custody. I got devorced (still in the middle of it because she went and got pregnant again with some 1 night stand) and now it is a virtual certainty that I will get full custody. Now I am in love with someone and very happy.

I don't see a problem w/ 2nd marriages. My dad was married once to a witch (yea..my mom) and then he met my step mom and the marriage is still going strong after 25 years, combining a family of 5 children and adding 2 more. So 2nd marriages work.
BUT if the 2nd marriage comes as a result of someone cheating in the first marriage..then chances are the 2nd one ain't going to last......Just my thought

sweetie people today have been married more than once in our life now. It is common to see people married more than once . The saying maybe the third time lucky. You must remember as long as you are happy it doesn't matter how many times you have been married for. Guezz sweetie my ex has been married 6 or 7 times and still can't get right. I have been married once and divorce but if I want to get married again i would but this time he can divorceme instead as it cost to much these days to get it.

I think it depends on the reason why the first marriage is over and why marrying the second. If first spouse a jerk kicked ya out to be with his girlfriend and you met someone and both really in love another marriage might not be so bad

This debate ha been going on for millennium. Except for Islam most societies permit only one wife.There are unending problems of interpersonal relations, faith and trust moment another woman enters man's life. After all these trials and tribulations and based on societal experience " one man one woman " norm appears to be best for a lasting and enjoyable relation.

a man can have one wife without any mistresses. it's not fair to have two wives. they won't be happy with it. in Islam it was for very rare cases. in real life it's strange to find a man with two wives in my Muslim society.

if anything like this was supposed to happen it would have already happened.
