many people say that they are atheist, and then there are those who say there is no god.but why celebrate something if you are not part of it ?you are only contradicting yourself...

I'll give you some examples of what I mean by "stupid".

Refuses to go to the dentist because "they always tell me I have cavities".

Rants and raves that they successfully quit smoking, but hides the fact that they just switched to chew.

Hires a maid service, then spends 16 hours cleaning before the maid shows up.

Disconnects the "service engine" light because he doesn't know what the problem really is.

Skipped his rent for a month because he was angry at his landlord for threatening to evict him.

Took out a loan to buy christmas presents, then asked relatives for money for christmas instead of gifts so she can pay for that loan.

See, normally I'd just tell these people off for being stupid...but they're my friends so I can't just come right out and say that. And softened methods of saying "Y'know, that's really not a good idea, because..." have failed to get through. Is there some kind of tactful way to slap someone upside the head?

My best friend's dad passed away yesterday. She became really depressed and I don't know what I should do. She had to sell a lot of her things (i.e. her piano, dogs..). She sort of mentioned she was going to move and I'm afraid she'll transfer schools.

She's usually smiling and I was shocked to see her cry. It was the first time. I don't know what I should do to help her or comfort her. Any ideas?

I don't understand how someone can make fun of someone who is just trying to be friendly?

I've seen this happen in particular with bullies at a school. My niece is a sweet young lady but there are some girls who just don't like her and are mean to her. She doesn't understand why this happens and it's breaking my heart to watch her in pain.

I just don't understand how people can be so cruel to someone else who never hurt them and was only trying to be their friend.

Me and my family useto go and have a week in devon every year. we stayed in a big house that had drive way a indoor pool and a spar. The man who owned the house lived faceing the house and onder were he lived was a games room with pool and tabel tennis. my sister went and he said to her you have blocked my toilet and she said I havent but he didn't listen. that was 6 years ago and now my grandma isent alive we dont go. but he still sends us christmas cards every year. should we still keep intouch with him or not? and we whent there five times.

a friend of a friend lent me twenty pound a while ago, they knew i had no money and only lent me it because they wanted my friend to come out and I couldnt go cos i was skint (my other mate wouldnt go without me) she has been being funny with me and now eventually asked for it back - i had totally forgot and have twenty pound to last me till the 20th, this girl always gets money off her boyf and even laughs about that. do i pay it back or make her wait?

So....
I was dating a guy that was ok, "popular"....and I was NO where near that....
But we were together for one day and we split....Later, i found out the reason, it was Alyssa, the most popular girl.....She MADE him dump me so he HAS to be with Pricsilla(Alyssa's "BFF")....
Then, he was together with Pricsilla for 1 day and he dumped her and came back to me....
He started doing sweet things for me and about 1 month, i finally accepted him again....
We are now together and happy....

But, the problem....
No fairy tail has a perfect ending....


Alyssa found out and got all the people in the school(well, all the popular people)....to come to my face and trash me....
They also wrote alot of stuff in the blog.....

I just want to ask WHY? HOW can i keep living my normal life the way it was before??

Anyways, she and I hang out alot and we're friends and co-worker, but you think we could be more mature about this, but we're not, and this always happens, stupidness like this anyways...

We had planned to go out this week. She had called me a few days ago but I didn't return her call until 8 hours later. I called her and she simply just hung up on me. Fine, it's not the first time she's hung up on me. Anyways, I didn't call her back and it's several days later, but I want to know if she still wants to hang out. Should I call her or e mail her?

You'd think she wouldn't want to hang out anymore, but stuff like this always happens, we dont' say sorry, we just hang out again. Last week she was upset again cause I took too long to return her call, when I did she said, "I have to go, I am sorry, I am going to call you back, so please have your phone on you" Yeah....no callback, lol.

Yeah we got serious issues I know.

I'm a 22 year old girl and i have my own house, a good job, and i'm a nice person. The trouble is i live near my family. My mom and dad live on the same block and i have 2 sisters and a brother that live only a few blocks away. They are all constantly fighting and arguing with each other and it's driving me nuts! I always feel like i'm caught in the middle because i seem to be the only level headed one among a bunch of rude hotheads. I'm really tired of it and it's starting to wear me down mentally and physically. I'm thinking about getting away from all of them and relocating to another city. Would i be wrong for doing this? I love my family but i can't take this crap anymore. A co-worker told me that family should always stick together even if they don't get along. I disagree. Can i get some answers on this topic? This is my first time on Yahoo Answers. My friend told me about it so i decided to give it a try. HELLLLLLPPPPP!!

i was in this relationship with a guy that had problems with underage drinking and drug use. he'd get high on a regular basis and then mess around with me. So i told him if he didn't give up drugs we won't even be friends. We wound up becoming best friends. A few weeks ago i was told by one of my friends that he had told her he had been doing drugs again so i confronted him about it and he told me he did but it was a "one time thing". So as if i didn't have trust issues with him before now he's breaking promises. it took me about 2 weeks to begin to believe he was telling the truth. So today the friend that told me about him starting up drugs again told me that this weekend he did again. I confronted him about it again and he told me he didn't. I don't know who i should believe. He's broken promises, lied to my face, and abused me before. And my friend was right the first time. I don't know who to believe. You always want to be the girl he'll change for. I don't think he'd give them up

He said " so you're just looking for a friend i guess " & i said yes .
i told him that before . & when i asked him what about you , he said " i'm hoping to possibly find something more out there i guess you could say " . I said " okay . & " , he said " a friend or two wouldn't hurt " .

is my bestfriend a good bestfriend because sometimes she's an amazing person like we laugh and have a lot of fun but then sometimes she's so mean she's really rude and stuff

she's always telling me your crush doesnt like u and he never will when her crush doesnt even say 1 WORD to her


also she acts like she's better than me and when she says shes gonna do something and i say that i am too she gets all jealous when i was planning to do that[something] before her

also she thinks she's funny and calls be a B****

my friend mike is a preacher's kid. he's almost 21. he was on main street and lit up a cigarette. when he got home his parents said 3 of our members called and said they saw you w/ a cigarette. then they chewed his a$s. he said he's an adult and what he does is none of their business. I don't agree w/ smoking, but I do agree w/ it not being their business. another time he went to class (college) in pajama bottoms. lots of students do that. his parents got called and said we saw mike at the college wearing pajamas! what is wrong w/ that boy blah blah blah. also, he was downtown again and holding his girlfriend's hand. he kissed her on the lips. guess what happened? yup! phone calls and all that. (his parents didn't care). he gets pretty pissed off, and I would to. He flat told his parents that it's no one's business, and that if the church members say something to him, he'll say it's no one's business but my own. watcha think?

I used to be friends with a depressed person or two, but not anymore. Not that I didn't try--I did. For years. But despite their wonderful qualities, the depression is just too much of a drag to be around. They sucked the life out of me. Ok I am 21 and I WAS talking to this 35 yr old marrid man... yes I know it was wrong so you dont have to give me the lecture. Well we met at the gym cuz we both play racquetball. We talked on the phone and did some stuff for about 2 weeks until his wife started to find out and started following him everywhere he goes now. Well he told me that HE CAN NOT TALK TO ME ANYMORE b/c he didn't want his wife to find out and everything and so we stopped talking altogether. Well Monday I went up to the gym to play racquetball and he was up there playing with his friends and I caught him looking at me quite a few times when he thought I was looking away or something. His friends were also STARING AT ME like he told them something false about me, like a rumor!!! I dont understand what this means or why he would still even look at me???? I am just wondering, thats all... im not trying to pursue him. Guys... can you answer this please?

After much thought/consideration, I have decided to stop hanging out with a neighbor who happened to be a friend for several years. After making new friends other than at my high school in college, I now feel that him and others were bad influences on me. I have no idea what to do when I comeback home from college. I really don't want to start talking to him when I first get back and make it appear that everything is fine and that we are gonna hang out over the break. There is this girl at school who keeps telling me she is my friend then tells me tons and tons of lies she cant keep a secret ive gave her like 10 chances if not more and she thinks she is so pretty and all that.....that is my first question what do i do without hurting her in any way!....2nd of all there is this girl who gets really mad easy and is a snitch all the time and im tired of her doing crap to everyone but if i cause any phisyical contact ill get expelled and if i argue ill get detention but i cant ignore her....cuz its kinda hard to what do i do?..3rd of all my friend is having a slumber thing just for fun this saturday but there is this girl that might come who is like my worst enemy but if i fight ill get sent home how can i avoid fighting if she comes without getting over upset remeber i have a teper and sometimes i go overboard with it i just need help!!!!

i entered my schools cheerleadins squad late and so i have to catch up with all the other girls who have been cheering for yrs and this is my first year and i know i am not bad but i feel so nervous when we have to perform and i wanna be as good as the other girls but its so hard and my coach is rele nice but i wanna be as good as possible but i keep falliing short to my standards. OK, this is gonna sound weird but, here it goes, It all started when I first started coming to my new school, The school was smaller but a lot of fun, the first few days it was fun, until Sarah came into the picture, At first we were sorta friends, and we both liked art, I drew Anime, and was best artist in class, she drew, um... stick men, anyway, she started copying my style, failing at it in every way, and so I tried to train her, but she never listened, she stole some of my art and tried to pass it off as her own, and then it got ugly, I started showing my darker side, a little emo/goth if you wanna label it, she copied that, I dyed my hair, she dyed it the same color, she started following me, stole my phone number and even said she hates me, but the next day she started saying "HI" really loud all through the day, Pretending to be my friend, speading rumors, and I just ignored it, she kept at it, now she copy's me in everything. I really hate it!!
