I was wondering if anyone here has a best friend of the opposite sex and if so how close are you?

Are you close to the extent that people who don't know you often mistake you for a couple?
If they do is that because you're physically close ie you hug alot and are just generally physically intimate.

How would you feel if you started seeing someone who had a friend this close? Would it bother you at all or could you understand the relationship is platonic.

I have been dating someone for a couple months, not too serious, but he is important to me, so I want to be supportive but not interfere with family time and cheer him up. I am going over to be with him tonight and want to bring a "Bag-o-things" to put him in a happy mood...I was thinking about good, but light movies that would set an upbeat mood, comfort food, or alcholic drinks, silly games/activities/toys, etc. Any ideas?
What would cheer you up? (and not be too "heavy" from a girl you have been dating, but not too committed to)

ok so my little sisters friend acts like a 5 year old im 14 my sister is 10 and her friend is 11 her friend lisa is so dumb she is in the 5 grade and she does get all As in school but she has absalutly no comen sencse like when we were all going down to the park she fell and said we need to go back home wich was a mile away and the bathroom was right infront of us and i told her she needed to go wash it of she said ohhhhhhhh and when we were at the pool my bathing suit was riding up and i wisperd to my sister do you think any one sall my butt and lisa herd and said (i mean scread at the top of her lungs) you mean your not wering any panties duh i wasent your not sapuse to and i usaly dont were panties i wear thongs she is just so anoying there are way more storys but i cant name them all what do you tink i should do

I recently found out that my best friend is a double-sided jerk off and that's made me alot more self-concious and anti-social. It has affected my confidence and ability to have a lot of (if any) social interaction. My other friends are noticing and I've even shut myself away from them. Does anyone have any advice?

My sister lived in an apartment with a girl from work. it didn't last very long because her roomate was stealing her jewelry and clothes and belts and even underwear!! But its not that all these things were really that exspensive its just that I live on an island in the carribean and my sister lives back in the states and alll that jewelry and the shirts from Margarittaville and her other clothes were basically all from here on the island that we bought TOGETHER!! My mom and me live here on the island and there all presents from us or things we did together. Now that we don't get to see eachother as often she really tressures those peices because they remind her of me and my mom when she wears them.Her roomate works with her and wears the jewelry. everyone knows she stole it from my sister.She just wont give it back and my sister can't get it because she takes it all to her moms house to hide it.my sister called the mom, wrote letters, and talked to her. What should she do?

I am 67, but look 53 and my girlfriend is 34 & does not act 34. My problem is that sometime I am asked if that is my daughter and that is a big insult to me. What do you say to someone who ask that question? I have never even had a daughter and I think it is rude of them to ask and I feel like telling them so.

My boyfriend (33) saw his friend other night at bar and he kinda didnt acknowledge him a nd sat on other side of bar. I feel VERY BAD for him. I want to know what I can say to him to make him feel better. I am so upset for him. He feels bad as this was someone he thought he considered to be his best friend. i talk to him more than anyone i tell him everything im always thinking of him i even dream about him we known each other for a while but we have never dated always stayed friends hes my best friend & i love him with all my heart. i want to be with him forever he is perfect in every way but he doesnt do relationships well. hes been single EVER SINCE I MET HIM! & its not like he has sex with people hes just alone he says he will never get married & wants to stay alone. so last month i fianally got the nerve to confess my feelings for him he was shocked but still we are just friends well last nite i was at work & we were texting each other & he told me that he now goes with this one girl. i broke out in tears! i ran to the bathroom and vomited i felt so sick then he text me again & said he was joking i was so releived! i think that tonite ima tell him that i cant talk to him nemore it just hurts to bad one day he will have a girl & it will hurt me to much what should i do?

seems almost out of the world-almost a nightmare.I don't know what the problem is.It isn't that I don't like girls.I do.But I'm very shy.I have a very bad reputation among girls.Since the last few years I have rarely talked to any of them.So, I might say that they are quite used to me not talking to them.I might also mention that I generally stand first or second in class.But I'm not at all arrogant my friends.Believe me.But the girls seem to consider me as a proud & arrogant fellow because I don't talk to them.But believe me, that is not the case.It's something totally different that I don't know.Even if I do speak a few words with them(mostly concerning studies)although very very rarely,I have a problem that I can't look at their eyes & speak.So I'm not only shy but "scared" as well-I don't know why!!!!.Please my friends,help me as I am feeling quite vexed.Suggest what should I do.Whenever I try to approach them, the thought of that I haven't spoken to them for so long scares me more

Me and one of my best friends were out the other night with a group of people and having a good time dancing and stuff when this guy came over and started chattin to her shes has a boyfriend yet she still chatted away to him after there chat he said that all of the girls had to take turns dancing in the middle of the circle which we did but I wasnt intrested in him so daned elsewhere with other friends. After a bi the guy went away and we enjoyed the rest of the time. When we decided to leave we saw him and he started chatting again my friend was laughing away with him and then she went out the door and he tried talking to me, he said your nt a good dancer you just did this and I'm a dancer so I knw I can dance and he was like prove it to me on the pole downstairs which is just a sleazy and I wasnt in the mood when I saw my friend I said the guy was gettin lairy at me and she disagreed with me and we had an argument. Do you think im justified to say friends need to stick by each other?

she is moaning at me for not cleaning when im clean and hardly ever in the house.
for not spending time with the housemates when all they do is watch soaps and i dont like them.
For alot when i have done very little wrong, even the other housemates laugh and defend me.
She says this lot half laughing but it still annoys me.
oh yeh, we used to be an item!
why is she like this? its almost like its fun for her

She is a friendly and nice girl. However, she is constantly borrowing my things, asking for lifts everywhere and generally making demands above and beyond the realm of a neighbour/friend! To add insult to injury I've been signed off work with stress and depression and I just want her to leave me alone! But because I've let it go on and on, how do I tackle this before I totally lose my temper and snap! Help!!!

For just under a year been chatting to this guy online, already knew him just not very well, only met briefly at uni.... got in contact via MSN around last xmas and we got talking regularly. He lives about 3 hrs away so not met up yet as he has a job thats quite full on and works all hours but he did say he wanted to and looked forward to it tho didnt say when.....our chat was quite flirtatious, and it got to where we were phoning a few times a week and lots of texts, started to see him as a genuine friend who really cared about, as we seem to get on really well and since about an even split who called or texted first would assume he felts same. I think I know but I would like your opinons to confirm what I believe.theres this guy in my class an he's to talk to in class, the only reason I exchaged number was to study sometime, but honestly I have no time for that. I have this friend who is on the heavier side and a boy said she was fat when she was sitting right next to me. She totally heard, because he was practically speaking to her. I was so shocked he said that when she was right there and she looked fine, like it happened a lot. She's shy and she didn't say anything so I blurted out "Shut up. You're fat!"
It wasn't exactly the best comeback, but it was all I could think of. She looked a little more relieved. I was shocked he just said that to her face. (The boy is an idiot by the way...and I mean like, a straight F student by the way.) It's amazing how he could just say that!! I swear if I was her I would have slapped him so hard! I was almost ready to. I'm pretty thin so I felt so bad and awkard!
