Friends - June 2007

A good friend of mine who I have known for 5 yrs. has recently broke up with his gf of 6 yrs. He told her that they should see other people; but we was also cheating on her. He didn't tell her that. Also him and another good friend of ours told his sister that the dog that my good friend got from her had died; when we don't know if he died and hat had actually happen was that he lost the dog. He hasn't told her. I understand the thing about "White Truths" or "Half Truths" but I think that these 2 incidents have kind of cross the line. These are also the same people who indirectly call me crazy; when I know that when they ask me something personal I tell them, but when I ask them they get all defensive and deny it and a couple other issues that I won't go into detail because I am running out of space lol. So am I a victim of deception? Or is deception on its way in time?

I met this one guy, and we have alot in common, except that he lives on the other side of the country... we're exactly alike in almost every way, and I'm pretty sure he has a crush on me, but because of the distance neither of us want a relationship, we'd like to remain friends. I feel like I'm corrupting him and bothering him because I've been having insomniac moments (staying up until maybe 7am) and I'll just stay online and check out websites, and he'll make himself stay up that late just so he can keep me company and 'he likes talking to me'. He'll also IM me and txt me during classes, and he's getting in trouble with professors for doing that. The most recent thing he did was send me a gift (that cost him about $40). I feel really guilty, and I've confronted him about it, but he says that he knows he doesn't have to do that, he just wants to. What should I do?

Okay, so I have been going to summer school for two days now. I have no friends in my class and no one to talk to during break. There a few other kids that also have no one to hang out with and they look interesting to talk to. How can I "break the ice" and talk, maybe even become friends with them? I don't want to look like an idiot, of course...

What should I do? I have been best friends with this girl for 11 years. She recently got devorced and I am so proud of her for finally standing up for herself and devorcing him but she has change so much!!! She has three daughters and she goes out all the time. She has this roommate who has led her to be this person I know she never met to become. She was this good mother and friend, and I understand that she wants to enjoy this new life but she is taking it to far. She comlplains to me all the time about her roommate but yet she continues to do the same thing he is doing. Party, Party, Party....by the ways, her roommate is a gay guy. I am tired of hearing about him and his problems!!! She doesn't take any of the advise I give her and gets a little attitude with me if I say anything about him. What should I do?

So I get homesick really badly and easily. I am going to a Christian Camp and I have two options:
1) Go up with one of my Bestest Friends and fish at their cabin.
2) Go up Sunday (the day we need to b there) with two other friends, we are all together S-F neway.

i have recently gone to a new school and this girl from my old school keeps calling me and sending me emails asking if she can come round to my house she really annoys me but im not the type of person to tell her to p*ss off i feel really guilty egnoring her because she used to be my friend but after she tried to eat my gold fish i thought maybe not.

My best friend and I started a business together, things got ugly, she brought in her sisters and one of them stole a couple of thousand dollars. They blamed me, she believed them and voted me out of the company. That was one year ago. My life has been terrible, since. I've been out of work and am losing my house. Her Mom passed away, a day ago. I want to reach out to her, but she thinks I'm a theif and a liar, and she screwed up my life. I'm really worried about her, because she lost a daughter 10 years ago and her Grandma a couple of years ago, and this is going to be a terrible blow. HELP.

To Australia (not a joke) and i know that i will never see her again. Neither my family nor hers could pay for one of us to come over and see her. i am afraid that we will loose touch because she will be so far that we wont have much to talk about. I am really going to miss her! How do i keep in touch and raise the money to go see her in Australia? How much would a ticket cost from New York? I do the same things with my two friends seperately (1 boy 1 girl) day in day out. There is hardly anyone else I feel I could be comfortable alone with. All of my 'acquaintances' seem to have friends comin out of their ears and are constantly on their phones. I feel as though I need to branch out and make new friends but the only people who show any interest in me is usually lads who are just tryin to come on to me. I find it difficult to get to the stage of swappin numbers and going out with other girls especially. I work in a pub and am as friendly and chatty as I can be (although im quite shy), but girls never seem keen to become real friends with me. Doesn't help I'm might be kinda sorta starting to see this lad who is MR POPULAR and I think he thinks I'm some kind of social failure because I'm always with the same person.

Any advice on how i can break out of my shell? my friend was raped in febuary and rthe cops did nothing about it they put him in jail, and he was let out the next morning. then he kept harassing her at work, and the cops were called out numerous times but did nothing, so she was jsut getting over that, and then just as she was starting to trust other guys, she went out to lunch today with some guy, that she has known for like 5 years,and thought she could trust him. But turns out she couldnt, he took her up a dirt road to day pretended he took the wrong road, but then one thing lead to another, she kept telling himm, no and he started forcing himself on her, and she tried to get him off her and he kept getting on her, and then she finnally kicked him and then he finally left her alone, she came back to school all upset, i judt dont no what to do, she didnt want to do anything about it the last time and didnt want to tlak to anyone, so i am scared this time it will ruin her and she will end up hurting her self. please help me

i'm about to go into high school and i've been playing soccer since i was about four. i was on a really good soccer team but then it wasn't fun anymore and i quit. my dad really loved to watch me play and he keeps bugging me every time he sees me to go to tryouts again and re-join the team. i like my team mates and traveling but there is just too much pressure on me and i don't really like the coach. the coach just yells at us and puts us down. it especially got out of hand when we had to use soccer journals!!!!!!!!!!!(don't ask) i want to make my dad happy but i really don't want to play. instead i want to play volleyball and other sports for my high-shcool. WHAT SHOULD I DO!!?? HOW SHOULD I TELL MY DAD????? no one i talked to has really helped me out yet. i'm hoping someone here can. thanks

... and then told me i wasnt the girl for him and then left me. i told him i had cancer 1 month after the hospital when i learned about it from further testing. why would he cry at the hospital saying he was going to marry me as soon as i get out when i just had a kidney infection but when i was diagnosed with cancer he laughed, didnt care then just broke up with me for good? i thought he loved me?

This girl in my class says she doesn't care about anyone. But she hangs out with my friends and me and we always talk and stuff. She's always asking to take sips outta my drink and sometimes touches me when she walks by me at lunch. She also stares at me when I walk up to the school and stuff, but never smiles or says anything. I mean when you think about it - not many people choose to be that way because they obviously have trouble finding friends who are like them or whatever and it is challenging to go at everything alone and not have anyone for advice or guidance. I think being a loner deserves a lot of credit, especially for people who manage to still be successful.
