FRIENDS NEVER DAT FRIENDS EX"S!!!!! What kind of friends are you to consider going out with him no matter how much you like him. If her friendship is more importan than going with him then get that thought out of your head and be a true friend to her, because whatever he done to her he will do to you ad the only reason he likes you is because you are friends with his ex. It's a power struggle he's going after you to get to her to make her jealous because he still wants her, but he wants to see if you will allow him to come between you two and he has, by him telling you anythig that you want to hear. If I was her you wouldn't be my friend the moment you told me that you like my ex. They always say that people only want something that they know they can't have, but if gets back with her you would not want him. Be a friend and get over yourself and him. He's no good for the both of you.

Ok so im going through the exact same thing right now. Normally chicks before ***** is how it works, but sometimes you cant help who you like so just go for it, if your friend cant handle that then let her now shes not being a very good friend by trying to keep you from who you like.

Technically, there's no reason you can't go out with. However, the accepted etiquette these days is that friends' exes are off limits. If she's more important to you than him, and he hasn't asked you out or show interest in you, then respect her wishes, childish though they may be.

Regardless how old you are and I don't think u understand how wrong that is. It is like a sacred boundary that no one should cross but unfortunately it is done 24/7. If you value and if you know the meaning of "value" than you would not double cross your friendship for a "guy" especially one who dated your girlfriend aka you best friend.

all you gotta do is like him and recover from all that different drama, yet while she is a actual chum that he's incredibly off limits. yet she prob, already have been given you found out that your no longer a great chum considering you lied. thats why you acquire the MMHM YEAH BOY i tell ya real freinds are problematic to return by utilising!

You answered your own question. You still want to be her friend. Therefore, you can't date him. Why would you want to?
I know that my friends are like sisters to me and I would never date my sister's man. That's nasty.
There will be other available men but good friends are few. Chalk the man and keep the friend.
Not to mention, if he is the type of man that will date friends, you will never be able to trust him around any of your friends. How will you know that if they like him too that he won't date them when you break up?

Trust me I know what your going through. I know I dont know your friend, but to me it sounds like shes not a good friend. She should respect your feelings for him. And she shouldnt have a say in your love life, especially with him. Shes his ex girlfriend. Not girlfriend. So you go after what you want. If its him, go get him. If you want to keep your friend keep friend. You have to make a choice, sorry to say(choices suck dont they?). Good Luck!

Since you say shes more important you should keep your friendship with her. and it would be a nice way to show how important she really is to you.
maybe theres a good reason your friend and him broke up or if not then maybe eventually your friend will see how much he means to you and not mind anymore.
but you should definitly chose to keep your friend.
