To Australia (not a joke) and i know that i will never see her again. Neither my family nor hers could pay for one of us to come over and see her. i am afraid that we will loose touch because she will be so far that we wont have much to talk about. I am really going to miss her! How do i keep in touch and raise the money to go see her in Australia? How much would a ticket cost from New York? I know its a lot but shes my best friend and im really going to miss her!

When a close friend moves away it's a difficult situation. When they leave it creates a void that was not there before. But don't worry Audrina. Today, the world is smaller than ever! We have emails, and phones. You can call her. You can email her. How about setting up a webcam? You can talk everyday and even see each other. She can share the pictures of her new surroundings and you can learn about a new culture. You can save up and go visint after a couple years. You can bake cookies and sell them to your friends. When I was in high school I used to buy Blow Pops and sell them. They cost 10 for a dollar and I'd sell them at a quarter a piece. You can recycle, and ask your friends, and their parents to recycle. You may even ask your parents to provide the trash cans for them, I think they can help you save up.

This will be a great life lesson, and testament to your dedication, discipline, and ability to save when it's necessary. Something like this will add character to you and will prepare you for many of life's hardships that you may or may not encounter.

Maybe you can babysit a couple nights and make some extra cash? You can make cash out of pretty much anything. All you need is some imagination.

As far as losing contact with your friend, at this point, if you lose contact it will nto be for lack of resources.

The world is not over sweetheart, this is a defining moment in your life, where you prove to yourself that you can achieve something that seems so out of reach. Remember, that if you shoot for the sky, you'll land amongst the stars.

Good luck!

That's tough. At least there is the internet and you can set up cameras and keep her posted about what is going on where you are and she can let you know about Australia. Australia is a pretty expensive trip so you may want to consider getting some type of part-time job. The trip would be quite an experience. Friends are friends forever.

THAT SUCKS but is not the end of the world, she will be alive and you have to make the best of the situation. There are so many ways to communicate. Email, Phone, YA, letters, tape recordings you can send one another.
Whose to say you won't be a successful person when you grow up and be able to afford a ticket then. Good friends are flowers in our life and more precious ever. Your friendship will survive if it is as strong as you make it sound like it is already. I am sure she will miss you just as much. Best Wishes

Keep in contact over the internet, IM's, emails. In today's world that's not so far away.

If your parents can't afford the ticket you'll have to get a job or make things and sell them to raise the money yourself.

Become blood sisters before she moves and chat for hours on the internet everyday. Email pictures and videos and post info on Youtube as well as myspace and facebook. The world is a smaller place because of the internet. Don't let your friend leave your heart as well.

well, i can truly relate to that. you should save all the change you have and keep it in a jar, and before you know it, you'll have more than $80 in the jar. Keep saving. i wish you luck.
