My Mom moved out in october and found a new boyfriend over the internet. She left a 21 year relationship with my Dad and left him brokenhearted. I have tried talking and I have visited them (MOm and bf)a few times (kind of hard because they are about 8 hours drive away) but we fell out over an argument which ended in her blaming me for her problems and the reason for her leaving... She blamed it on my cutting and emotional behaviour. I would like to talk to her again as being an ordinary 15 year old girl I do miss having a Mom to talk to but I am unsure if I should after what she has done... Any suggestion please... Anyone been in that sort of situation?...

Trust me, I understand that people have different views on raising children, and I respect them.

However, sometimes some answers and advice are so far wrong, they worry me about our next generation.

How do you feel on the subject? Do you have any examples of horrible answers?

Im 13 and my mother still decides where stuff goes in my room. For example: I still have rodeo blankets, more Hot Wheels Cars than the average K-mart Store can hold, and Shel Silverstein books from god knows how many years ago.

Please write down your personal stories of how you have practically dealt with this issue? Did you seek balance? Did you love one and exclude another? Did you refuse to stop loving both? Be honest. Have you cut off friends and family because your husband or child has asked you to stop communicating with someone? Was it eventually "for the best" as you hoped?

The father is twice her age and acts way younger in every aspect. He has also agreed on giving this child to us. She is now a little over 12wks and I know that legal adoptions take a while so I want to get a start now. What I am asking about is whats the cheapest, fastest, easiest way to get the legalities done with? Any feed back you may have would be truley appreciated.

I met my dad when I was 5 and I didn't know how much I loved him. He and my mom were fighting for custidy in the courts and I said I didn't want to go back with him one day so I would have more time with my mom and she recorded me saying " I don't want to go." I called him on fathers day, heard clapping in the background, and he said he would call me back but he never did. Does he really love me?

I had such trouble with mine. They really dis-liked my marrying their Dad. One was 21 and the other,25. They treated me like crap, but I IMMEDIATELY forgave them in my heart, and I prayed for their attitudes to change, as well as mine. God did a miracle! The change is like,..the problem was never there! They say 'yes,ma'am", and "no ma'am"--I mean , all of a sudden-RESPECT! AND! Let me tell you---God is no respecter of persons. HE LISTENS TO YOUR PRAYERS--He loves you JUST the way you are! Go to God with your problems!!!

As an adult, I have chosen to have no contact with my parents because they are bad people. I didn't make this decision lightly, believe me. I know there are others who have made similar choices. So how do you deal with the likelihood of people's casual judgments about this if/when it comes up (e.g. conversations with b.f.'s parents)? Also, what do you say when people ask you what you're doing for mother's day, if you'll see you family at holidays, etc.?

My friend's a high schooler who recently started venting to me about her mom via email.

I quote: "But when she starts yelling at me alone, she expects me to forget everything about 2 minutes after. She expects me to be her friend all the time and just stand there and take it when she's yelling at me and then forgive her and forget it ever happen. And the worst part is that she doesn't take the hint when I want her to leave me alone and I just let her walk all over me ALL THE TIME.

And the thing is that when I do tell her that her accusations are false, she doesn't listen. She may hear, but she doesn't listen. "

She goes on to say that she wishes her parents would divorce so she could just get away from her mom for a while.

What am I supposed to say to that?! This isn't all typical teen angst; I know there's something serious going on.
