I met my dad when I was 5 and I didn't know how much I loved him. He and my mom were fighting for custidy in the courts and I said I didn't want to go back with him one day so I would have more time with my mom and she recorded me saying " I don't want to go." I called him on fathers day, heard clapping in the background, and he said he would call me back but he never did. Does he really love me?

Sorry to say he sounds a little selfish and maybe not very mature.
I never met my father, and I hear he died about 10 years ago. We spoke once. i tracked him down on the telephone. He talked, but was kind of rude. I was about 25 or so. I asked him to meet me for a drink, and he agreed but didn't show.
Your mom is your closest ally in this situation. Don't ever take that for granted, and appeciate her. Alot.

I'm sure your father really loves you, his feelings may have gotten hurt, when you wanted to stay with your mother, a little longer, regardless, he is still your father and he should act like one. When you heard clapping in the background, he may have had company over, while watching a game or something and maybe it got too late, to call you back, if that were the case, he could have at least called you back and explain himself, the next day. Your mother had no right to record you saying that, that's misleading the courts, into favoring her and it's a betrayal, to you. I hope things work out, you seem like a very bright eleven year old, try to have fun and not worry about things, ok. Bye bye.

Look, what your dad does, doesn't mean anything about you. It doesn't mean that you are bad, or unlovable or that there is anything wrong with you. You have been unlucky because your dad is a man who has made bad decisions when it comes to being a dad. I can't tell you how he feels. There are many possibilities about the reasons why he has chosen to not be there for you. He could feel that you are better off without him, for example but there could be other reasons and there is no way to know. I know other kids who have a father who never calls, tries to see them or be there for them or anything, and they are very very good kids, and they are easy to love, and if they needed a family I would take them in a heart beat. Your father probably does love you, and maybe doesn't know how to be a dad or what to do about being a dad. Who knows? And don't be mad at your mom either, she is doing what she thinks is best for you and being a mom can be hard because sometimes we have to make hard decisions. But don't worry because even though sometimes it's hard, it's always worth it. And we do our best, wether we make the right decisions or not, we try really really hard to do the right things. I hope you find what you want to know.

well hunny im 18 years old going to be 19 this year and i havent seen my father for about 8 years now and i only seen him twice when i was 10 and it was by accident and he never even calls to say happy bday and stuff and other holidays point is as you grow older youll realize that hes an *** and if he might call you or anything it will be because he might want something or he realized how much he loves you and hes probably going to say how much he regrets missing out your childhood. right now forget it because he does love you just doesnt show it and yeah its really hard being 11 years old and not having a father. i didnt have a father nor mother and i grew and realized alot its hard to explain sweetie but just go out with your friends hang out dont think about it to much its going to hurt you alot. =/ im sorry.

Yeah he does.. you are his daughter! You have to understand he really hasn't had a relationship with you - and maybe all the fighting over custody issues has stressed him out and he doesn't know how to handle it. I would just call him again and talk to him, tell him you want him in your life.

Call him again. Be prepared though. He might be involved with another family and not have time for you or he might have such bitter feelings toward your mother that he can't separate them from his feelings for you.
