I think that at 13, you are capable of deciding how you want your room. Tell your mom that you are growing up and you'd like to be responsible for your room and how it looks.

Your mother does control the majority of what happens in your room, however, instead of complaining and arguing, you may have a few choices here.
If it is about decorating choices, ask her for a day out with you shopping so that she can pick out the things that she likes, and you can have some agreement to the choices. It can be a great day for you and MOM! Maybe she will enjoy this experience.
IF it is about money though, maybe your parents just do not have the money to put out for decorations. Parents do not always bother children about money issues, because they don't want the child to be worried about them.
Ask mom if you can have a day out together. If it is money problems, then maybe there are some great discount stores in the area that will not hurt the bank too badly.

I'm a 13/almost 14 year old girl. My room is ALWAYS a mess. My step-dad walked in one day and told me that my room looked like it belonged to a teenage boy. My dirty clothes are strewn all over my floor, and empty water bottles are on my desk/bed. My bed is never made. I usually take 10 minutes to get ready in the morning. My mom always yells at me to clean my room. It'll probably get cleaned in a week or two. This is VERY true.

It should be a compromise. At thirteen you are old enough to chose your own stuff. IT may be that your parents just don't have the money to buy you new stuff. If you wuld like to redecorate try to earn some of your own money and buy stuff you like. Doing yard work or chores for your neighbors or babysitting is a good idea. It will also show your parents that you are responsible enough to handle money and the buying of your own stuff.

yes, by 13yr, I think you should decide, you are old enough, and you are trying to define yourself as a teenager.
calmly, say: "mom, could we please give these to children at the hospital or homeless shelters that have no toys, they would enjoy them, I have enjoyed them when I was younger, but now that im starting my teen years I would like my room to be a little more for a teenagers room." or suggest they go to another family member.
good luck, but if you dont scream and throw a big fit, and use a calm voice, she might understand a little.

Your mother pays the bills does she not?
You will be moving out on your own someday and can do what you want to with your things in your house, etc.
Believe me, it won't be much longer and you will be on your own.
But for now, follow God's advice Ephesians 6:1-4

That is your decision because you have to look at that stuff on a daily basics and if you are not interested in it then it is a real disappoint ment. The room is supposed to be ABOUT YOU and what you are interested in. Talk with your mom her love for you will fix this.

Your thirteen, if you dont stop it now she will do it forever. Your a teenager, time to grow up and do what you want. The most important par of your age is not the number but the four letters that follow the number
