Why does the bride's family have to pay for everything? And the groom's family hardly pays for anything?

I want to have a SMALLLLLL WEDDING. My boyfriend has a big family. I have a really small family. He wants to have a best man. I don't want to have a maid of honor or any bridesmaids. But since he wants a best man, I have to have a maid of honor because that's who he will walk down the aisle with. I don't have anyone in mind! GOSH I just want something small. It seems like he cares more about the wedding than me.

Since it seems like he wants more out of the wedding than I do, shouldn't HIS family be paying for the wedding? All I want is a photographer.

And since it's pretty much all about the bride, shouldn't the groom's family be paying for most of the things... out of courtesy?

I met my guy friend in school, it turned out we go to church together. Over the next 2years we became SUPER close. Everyday we called each other on the phone, walked to classes together eat breakfast together. I knew he liked me at the time but my feelings for him were not the same. For my last years of school i decided to be homeschooled so i could finish schooling earlier. He didnt like that. My guess is that he thought that i was abandoning him. Its been 3years now, and our friendship has come to a standstill... we still see each other in church and i still talk to him, but its not like it was. And i feel as though my feeling for him have changed and i like him. We recently started talking like old times again...but there are ALOT of times when at church he ignores me and wont say hi...but we are ALWAYS doing that smile the look away thing, but hardly anything else.He will talk to me for awhile then the next week competely ignore me (except for the smiling) What do i do?

I've known this girl for about 5 months and we have hung out many times. She seemed to be interested in more than friendship. We went out for Valentines Day and had a lot of fun. Then at the end of the date I went to kiss her goodnight and she gave me her cheek. Then she says "call me sometime" and leaves.

I'm confused. Does she just want to be friends?

I never had frinds in high/middle school and it still drives me crazy. I'm in university now and I still feel like I missed something. I get so jealous of people who have friends! I still don't have many friends so I feel like I missed out and I can't stand it. I feel like that's the reason I'm lonely now and I'll never be able to catch up, I'll be lonely forever. My mom says to get over it but I'm not sure I can.

Our wedding is going to be hosted by us, the Bride and Groom. 99% paid for by ME- the Bride, And, after us being engaged for 5yrs AND having a son together, our families STILL do not approve of our marriage. His parents and My parents have never even MET because they refuse to. SO..we are having a 100 person wedding, and are debating not inviting our families knowing they will cause issues at the wedding. I'm not paying 10 dollars a head for a meal for people who don't respect us. Is this crazy? We have 75 friends on the list if we take out all of our family. This isn't your typical wedding question so its hard to find information on this kind of thing. Suggestions??

I know some of you may think this sounds stupid and immediately will think I'm trying to take advantage of the guy I know.

Well..

Let me explain:

I'm 18 years old, almost 19 years old and I've known this guy since the age of 13, but now, since I'm 18, I'm now living with him. I moved from Indiana to Texas to live with him. He's helped me through it all - when my dad lost his job, got laid off, and we needed money for food. He is now helping me get on my feet and until then, offered for me to live with him. I feel like I owe him a lot in return. He's very kind to me. I don't want him to think I'm taking advantage of him at all. I really do love him ALOT. I wish I could just explain to him in words how much, but I cannot do that, I'd just have to do that by my actions.

In return, I want to make love to him :

Kiss, cuddle, hug, and eventually have sex.

I'm not sure if he really wants to have sex with me and I'm a little scared to push it.

How do I convince him? Sighs

I have two children by a guy with whom the relationship didn't work out (for various reasons). We however remain civil and both have the kids best interest at heart. I asked another question and an "answerer" stated that I needed to "get out more and socialize with the opposite sex and not just for the sex either". Socializing with the opposite sex is pretty much what started all this. N E Way, my question is this...Is it really necessary to have a partner in order to be complete? I have heard horror stories about how children are abused and harmed by a stepparent or "their mother's boyfriend". I have male friends and even date occasionally some really nice guys. But, I refuse to let them near my children, because I am just so fearful. I mean who knows...

Now a days it just seems like sex is so over rated. Everyone wants it. Including the unmarried.

Am 44 years old; my wife is 37. We have two kids, 15 and 12. Our marriage has been OK, but starting about two years ago I started talking to her about her eventual return to the workforce (she was working when we met but has been a stay at home mom for the past 15.5 years). She told me that she did not have any plans until our youngest was a junior in high school.

Now, returning to the work force is a big step. My concern is that she should identify what she would like to do and acquire the skills she needs to get that job. I'm not asking her to go to work now, only to take steps so that when the time comes she is qualified to do more than minimium wage work. Of course, I would pay for any education that she would need, which could just be a class or two every semester.

She refuses. I now regret marrying her and see her as lacking ambition. She has time to take a class but prefers to watch TV, go to the gym and Starbucks. This is not what I expected. What can I do?

I have been living with a man I adore for about 6 months. We love each other, never fight, are kind and affectionate and harmonious. Boring! He is happy with me and is the sweetest guy. I often feel content, but deep down I feel like I am missing out on so much. 5 months ago he just stopped having sex with me. He has health issues that are taking a long time to figure out. He has no sex drive at all. 100% true. We are together all the time, if not working. He is completely exhausted all the time. He has other problems $ that are all stress related (he is 50). I understand, am patient, compassionate and never pressure. I'm very sad because I love sex, romance, fun and intimacy. None of which we now have, and never really did. His health and $ problems scare me. I feel like I do most of the giving. He says he feels bad, but he doesn't even try to get intimate due to exhaustion. Not even kissing. He says he feels bad that I want more and he can't give it physically. Any advise appreciated
