what he did to me was He had joined a website, looking for women for sex, saying that he is in a relationship but just wants to meet women for sex, for me that is a first sign of cheating. i dont know what would happen if i didnt find out, maybe he would have. From that i have unable to care for myself, i feel worthless. i am feeling so low about myself that i just dont care.

I like things such as art, reading, writing, the theatre, ideas. When I was a kid I got teased and ignored for liking this stuff. Now that I'm older, people gather around me--only I've just realized that they're just interested in me because of the stuff I say and do and the fact that I can entertain them, not because of who I am myself. They'll talk about the stuff I like, and I don't realize what they're really interested in until I run into some problems in my life and they just disappear.

Maybe I come across as pretentious (but I'm not--I really do like my interests for their own value). I definitely don't want to deny or play down my tastes and what I like, but I also want friends who actually care about ME. Any tips for discriminating between false friends and real friends? Or maybe how I should behave so I don't come across as pretentious--which might be why I'm always attracting the wrong sorts of people--but genuine? Thanks!

Ive told her how i feel about her. Shes just way too bossy for me. Everytime i threaten her that im gonna break up with her, she cries and tells me that she wanna kill herself and shell tell me that she wont do that again for like the hundredth timn. I don't want to hurt anyones feelings, but we are having to cut (for the third time) our guest list. Some of these people probably just assume they are invited and that it is going to be a big wedding. However, we just can't afford to invite as many people as we were hoping because we are paying for everything ourselves (which we've known all along) and the cash just isn't there.

Any suggestions for letting people down easy when they ask where their invitation is?

So my friend called me one night sayin my bf was plannin on breakin up with me. So i was on the phone wit my friend. Then my bf called.(understand, he's a "playa" and this all happened bout a 2 months ago) so i put my friend on hold and started talkin to him, he was bein all annoying and drunk sounding[later on i found out he was] and we got in an argument so i just stopped talkin to him.
later on the next day my bf called my friend and said "oh i broke up wit her, over email, but i didnt mean to cuz i was drunk. she told me what he said and i was CRUSHED! i thought things could work out but it didnt, and i know he was a "playa" but it hurt, and now i cant help but to judge people who even look like him, and i dont want it to stay that way. so the other night, last weekend. i called him wantin to stay friends, but he just went off bout his new gf and buggin me about if i had a new bf, i didnt. i asked y he wanted to know. no answer. but i just wanna stay friends with him, but idk how.

My girlfriend/ex-girlfriend of 5 years is marrying another guy.
I am a 29 year old man and met her overseas in Ecuador back in 2002 when I was living there and we were together for one year in Ecuador. In 2004 after many unsuccessful attempts of her trying to get a VISA to come to the U.S., she got a marriage visa and came to the U.S. Well, after a few months i freaked out, had a lot of doubts about getting married, so I changed my mind and she went back to Ecuador. She suffered alot and was very embarassed at what happened. We reconciled and since 2005 I have changed my mind 2 other times to get married. Basically we talked about getting married, then I got scared and changed my mind again. This girl stayed with me throughout everything and I returned last month to marry her on the spot, I really feel ready now in my heart, and she told me she accepted to marry another guy.
Is there something wrong with me? Committment issues? Or simply I wasnt ready? wrong girl?

okay so I set them up in the frist place. But I liked him when they were together, we even cuddled and dont say that i was a bad friend. he is a family friend but were really close and there are times when our parents are out and we will wach a movie and end up cuddling. I have been hanging out with this girl for about 3 years off and on, we have been more than friends from the physical activities point but we have never said or mention what our relationship status were. During the course of 3 years that I have known her, she has gone away here and there because she got involved in serious relationships. Anyway, Im at the point where I finally asked her if she wanted more than a friendship since we have so much in common and we have never talked about this topic. Her reponse was: I have been thinking about this too but i'm just afraid it will ruin our friendship. She did not really say yes or no, she just said: lets just leave it "open" for now and see what happens then she told me she will get intouch with me in a few days to hangout again. Keep in mind that this girl is 21 and very intelligent, she is the analytical type that thinks about everything. I just wanted to ask what you guys think and what do you think she means ? Thanks for any advice.

I know this sounds vain and I'm generally not, but lately several people have told me that I look like Payton Manning. I get comments like "how does it feel to be a Superbowl champion?" Personally this makes me cringe because I don't see him as the slightest bit attractive, in fact quite the opposite. I think many women think he is "hot" just because he is a great NFL quarterback.
