Family & Relationships - 27 January 2007

This is a long one and yes it really happened. I am now 20 and live in a dorm at New York University, but when I was maybe 16 or 17 something happened that I can't forget. First let me fill you in on the details. When my parents got married they lived in my dad's condo here in NYC, but my mom was a country girl and when her parent's died she wanted to move into their house in the country in upstate New York. It is a beautiful Victorian house in the woods about 5 miles from anyone, and it's gothic. My grandparents loved this house and mom wanted to keep it. So they moved into the house and had 3 kids, one is me of course. Nothing real strange about the house started happening until I was about 16 or 17, and only that one time...so far. I was in my bedroom and my parent's had gone out for their anniversary. My brother wasn't home because he was staying with his best friend, Tod. Tod and him were real close, not in a gay way though. It was just me and my sister, Julianna, at home. It was about 9p.m. Not late, but it was dark. To beat it all it started raining and lightning and the lights started blinking. So Julainna ran to my room and said that she wanted to stay with me. She was pretty young then. I told her it would be okay so I lit some candles and turned the blinking lights off. She calmed down and she helped me study for a music test that I was going to have the next day at school. Then after she had calmed down completely I took her to bed-around 9:45. It was still raining hard. So I kept studying and after I got finished with the music book I decided to try some pieces that my music teacher told us to study. It was very boring, so I started improvising and I made the piano vibrate cause I sometimes get roused up in the music. Then I heard my glass of water, or apple cider or whatever it was, fall. I thought that it fell because of the piano's vibrating, but it was on my nightstand on the other side of the room. I brushed it off. But I had to take the broken glass downstairs to the kitchen garbage. On my way upstairs I saw my sister had gotten out of bed and was in the family room cozed by the fire. She knew not to light the fire by herself, but she told me that she didn't light it, but I knew that we were the only ones in the house. I thought that she was lying, but I said nothing and went back upstairs. Then on my piano stand that holds music I seen the Turkish March by Mozart, I knew it wasn't mine. So I went downstairs and asked Julianna and she said it wasn't hers-I thought she was lying. So I put the fire out and told her to go to bed. She said okay and as she went up the stairs, I went in the kitchen to get some water. Then as I went upstairs again I saw that the music had been taken. I knew it wasn't her this time. When my parents got home I told them about it and mom said that the Turkish March was her dad's, my grandfather's, favorite piece. She thought I was playing a trick on her of course. Then as I was going to my bedroom I looked at our family picture. my grandfather was in it holding a piece of music, I never noticed it before because it was so small. I looked real close and seen the music he was holding was by Mozart. I thought "Oh Brother!" I was kindly scared, but not hysterical. I didn't sleep that much that night. The next day in school I sat near an open window in music class because I was hot- I get hot easily. Before the test the teacher said we could take a few minutes to look over the text. The wind blew and turned my books pages to the chapter about Mozart. Then a few seconds later it turned it to the one about Haydn(a classical composer). The thing about Haydn is that his first name was Joseph, and Joseph was my grandfather's first name. It made me wonder. I kept it to myself, who would have believed it?! So was it a coincidence? Was it just the wind? Was it my sister playing a trick on me? Then, a few days later or so, I remembered that Julianna told me that she didn't turn the fire on the other night when it happened. I asked her who did it, and she said that that never happened that she never went to the family room and that she never left her bedroom after I tucked her in. To this day, I don't like to listen to Mozart that much!

any real thoughts on this would be great. ive been with my bf nearly 3 years now we r living together and i have a little girl who he has taken on as his own, about 2 weeks ago i found out i was pregnant we are both very happy about it, but when he was going out with the girl before me she thought she was pregnant and he went and brought wedding rings because they was going to get married because that was the right thing to do in his eyes, it turned out she wasnt she was just late. (they were together 18 months) i have been with him 3 years and im defenatly (excuse my spelling) pregnant took 3 tests before i told him and got it comfirmed at the doctors, yet he has said nothing about marrige or getting engaged or anythink. why do u think that is. does he not love me as much as her or does he just not want to marry me. any sussegtions comments anythink to try and make me understand just a bit better would be very grateful

My sister dated this guy for about two years and he used to beat her alot. She left him before Christmas 2006 but I think she is sneaking off to see him again and she came home the other day with a black eye. Is there anything I can do? We have a restraining order against him but it obviously isn't helping. Please help.

My friend's brother gets a cell phone, AIM, and this thing for his game so he can talk to people online, and my friend dosent get to watch PG 13 movies, even the ones that arnt that bad and that have a few cuss words untill Julyish and she dosent get Aim, cell phone, or anything really besides her fish. My friend is my best frined in the whole world and i dont think that is fair to her and she hates it to. She has talked to her parents and they didnt really listen that much. I want to comfort her but i dont know how. Please help me with Ideas. (P.S she watches PG 13 movies at my house, or someone elses house with out her parents knowing. and she is totaly responsible.)

okay here is the situation. I'm a college freshman, and the second semester just started. On the first day of class I got a crush on this girl. She's not a super hotty, but she looks quite gorgeous to me. Imma start talking to this girl, and I am sure it will happen for sure. However, I wanna do it right. I had little success with girls in the past, so this time I really wannna do it right. Next class I plan on sitting next to the girl so that I can possibly get a chance to talk. so today someone left a note in my mailbox at work that said "I find you very ATTRACTIVE" and the handwriting looked very jagged and scary and kind of like a little child's hand writing. I'm not sure if it was just someone trying to be nice and sweet or if it was a practical joke or if it was from someone who might be a stalkerish type, but my boyfriend told me that I should probably report it to my boss because it could be a serial killer. I really don't want any one in trouble for it though.. what do you think? was it someone trying to be nice? or a stalker? and should I tell my boss or what?

mom didn't even visit him. I thought we were really friends. He got out in 2005, I had a baby, so we didn't hang out but we talked on the phone here and there. The past 6-7 months he ONLY calls when he needs a favor and that's it. He let a friend of his (girl) call me a ho over the phone, but when I called her one, he said that's my friend, don't do that! Well, I have a restrain. order on this one guy, and my friend has been in fights with his brother. My friend knows I don't talk to this guy or his family. Last night my friend got a call from this guy's friend, he got cursed out. My friend called me and said, what the F did you say to them boys! I said, u know I don't talk them. Then he said, I know u don't talk to them, well that's what "YOU" say. I had somebody to leave a message on his phone today not to call me back and I would not call him back. I haven't heard from him, so obviously he doesn't care. Was that right just to leave it all alone? He's not really my friend, is he? ty

My boyfriend of two years and I broke up about three weeks ago. Our relationship was so wonderful in the beginning. We started having problems when I left for college. My first semester there was awful. I was needy, clingy. So when I got back for Christmas, he ended it. About three months after, he called and we worked things out. Ever since then, the relationship was up and down. He always told me about how much he loved me and I knew he was telling the truth. He still felt like I was too needy and he wanted to be free and experience college (it was his first semester there). Even in our ups and downs, he was still committed and told me about how much he loved me. Although, things weren't quite like they were before. Before Christmas this year, he told me he had feelings like he wanted to be single. Two days after, he said he loved me and we were fine. Until about three weeks ago he said it again and I broke up with him. Do you think he just needs space or did his feelings change?

Last night I was at my Mom's.I went in the kitchen and got a glass of Pepsi and went back and set down in the living room.Well, a few minutes later tmy step dad starts yelling saying "People come over here and don't empty any ice trays and thats just lazy"BLA BLA BLA.So I didn't say anything back to him and set there a few minutes and visited with my mom and cousins who were here from Oklahoma.I don't know about the guy, he's always saying something about what I do and I'm 35 gawldamn years old.My 3 year old acts more mature than he does.He acts like I sell drugs out of my house or rob banks or someshit.But I don't do anything but rasie my kid.Why do old people do that?

Ok I'm not a ninth grader and I know this is silly to ask. But for the past few months that I've been going to the gym, this guy has been staring at me alot. I always catch him. I'm always there with my guy friend and he's with what seems like his girlfriend or friend. I think he is very attractive but I don't know what to think. Guys, do you stare at girls you're not interested in?
