Family & Relationships - 16 January 2007

I just wanted to know how everyone else handles their addicted parents. My dad is an alcoholic and mom is addicted to prescription pills bad. They both have been known to use street drugs as well. I am really frustruated with all this. They have been this way for years and have fallen back on me many times. I am 27 and have a stable life. My half brother is now living with me because he doesnt want to be with my mom and I think thats the best thing for him. I am the type that wants to take care of everybody. I have given them money, let them live with me, paid a few of their bills, taken in their kids(my siblings), and I am currently running my dad everywhere because he just got an apartment and doesnt have a car! He quit drinking over a wk ago and I seen a beer in his apartment sunday. I feel like just ignoring both of them untill they can get their lives together. They are seperated. What should I do? Do you keep a "relationship" with them or not? Thanks for reading all this!

ok, everyone deserves at least one day of relaxation, no friends, no family (no offence to friends and family though, having friends and family around is nice too), just 100% well-earned ME time. if you had one whole day of me time, what would you do??? i would listen to my ipod, read a good book, treat myself to a nice dinner, then go on a shopping spree. i might do something else as well, but so far these are on my list as must-dos. what about you?

It is now three years since I left and ultimately divorced my wife because she had a affair. The affair lasted five months, then she wanted to come home. My pride wouldn't let me. We now have joint custody of the kids and I see that this is not working for them. I regret not noticing that then. Anyone can relate?

she got caught up with talking to an old friend online he found out about our problems and moved in on her which after a month of talking online then they met and she slept with him she said she just wanted to feel comfort but felt obligated to sleep with him because he drove so far to see her. she thought i did not love her we are back together now but im having trouble letting go of the image of her with him does anyone know how to get over this
i do love her and always have we both just got lost in life for awhile and didnt show it but we are getting back the love for each other but im afraid what she did will and how im feeling will not let us move on i just want my life and my family back

I'm at work bored...my best guy friend with whom I had an on off fling before we called it quits went to see a girl this weekend that he thinks he might like. I've been hoping he'd tell me by now but haven't said a thing, even though he asked my opinion about it a million times before he decided to go. Am dying to know what happened, but I get the feeling he thinks I don't like he. Don't want to ask in a way that it makes me sound like I don't like her or am jealous. My family was very happy for nearly 15 years. 2 months ago, my husband betrayed me and dated with another woman. When I knew this, he decided to go with her, despite we have a happy family with very cute boy. I agreed with his decision, but I still grieve when he express his passion feeling with his new love. His lover still live with her husband who dosen't know about this thing. They are very happy now and my husband forget all things of our lives. Will they be happy forever? If not, how long? we were married for 7 years, then she had an affair, after 9 months i forgave her and we moved back in together, this was 3 months ago. Now she says she feels guilty for what she has done(which she has for awhile now)and that she doesnt know if we are gonna make it, which i dont either.
