Alimony comes from a time when women were not ALLOWED to divorce their husbands - only a husband could divorce his wife. Alimony was the money the man paid for his decision to divorce.

But if men and women are "equal" why should anyone pay any alimony? Especially why should the person filing for divorce get anything? (And yes, I'm aware that in some very few cases men have received alimony - so if the gender fits - wear it.)

In recent times, the argument is that alimony is paid for the "services" rendered by the woman: Cook, housekeeper, etc. But no offset is permitted for what they get in return: room, meals, utilities, clothes, transportation - all of which total up to much more than their services were worth.

So which is it? Are women equal (and not entitled to alimony)? Or are they nothing more than money-grubbing whores who are taking advantage of laws that have not yet caught up to the times?

I mean I'm honestly lonely a lot, and need of a woman in my life. I shouldn't let her know this, I'm wondering. Yes or No? Be honest with me about being honest about myself with a woman. Good idea or bad idea?

ok, so I decided to write this guy I really like a note/letter saying how I feel (since I'm too shy to tell him in person). But how do I start it?

me and this guy had sex for the first time together. he was not a virgin but i was. and before we had sex he knew i was a virgin. however, the first time he didn't talk much, but he was gentle, and he also let me know when he came. but the second time we had sex , he treated it as if it was my first time. and he even said "you said you were a virgin right?"..kind of like double checking. he was really caring and much more talkative this time, and he constantly asked me if i was alright, and he told me i need to tell him when to stop or when i am in a lot of pain.

why did he treat the second time like my first time?

So this guy I've been dating for like 3 months talks about things that involve is in the future. And I mean in a nonchalant way, like he'll say, "Over the summer, I'm going to do xyz, want to come?" or "In May, I'm thinking of having a party, you should come!" I know he's not really trying to hint at anything here but by him saying this, can it also show that he wants to be together for a long time? What do you guys think? Or am I reading too much into this?

I have been with my boyfriend for 3 years and 4 months now. I am 28, and he is 33. We both have great jobs and have established careers so money is not an issue. He has told me that he is not going anywhere and he will marry me "someday." I've been hearing this for nearly 2 years now. About 9 months ago we were having a conversation about it over the phone he was asking me when I want to get married. I told him it was hard to pick a wedding date when I haven't even received a proposal. Then he asked me if I would marry him. It wasn't the romantic proposal I had imagined, but I said yes. After that he never mentioned that conversation again and continued to say we would get married "someday" as though he had never actually proposed. I feel like he is stringing me along. How much longer should I wait?

meet up with your man for a "nooner" and then went back to work afterwards? What were you wearing at the time? Were you worried about 'smelling like sex' when you went back or did you just not care? If you happened to be dressed up did you notice any 'stains' on your nylons and just wore them anyway? Just curious, my wife sometimes does this with me and it is sooooo hot!

An active couple aged 15 and 18 could raise eyebrows, but a 20-y-o and 75-y-o don't. Discuss. And watch.

Pretty much went out with a couple of good friends and they brang one of theirs. We were drinking, but I don't think she really had that much but didn't see all her drinks. Anyways we end up going back to our friends place, and having sex. I thought me and the girl hit it off well, she was really into me and things ended great. After we were done she told me to call her in a couple days and we would hang and all that making it sound like more, we stayed the whole night together.

However I left in the morning and asked my friends to get the scoop. Basically she says she doesn't really remember, but not to tell me she didn't, and to say that it was good. Before I left in the morning though she should of been sober and I asked if I could should call and she still said yes.

Now the real question is do I just wait a couple and call, or do I just go for broke since she says "she doesn't really remember" and call and say we were both drunk, and if it was just a one night stand?

"h o ly s h i t" "oh s h i t" and everything. like he kept getting more intense so was that bad or good that he was saying that? cause i mean usually when someone says that it's negative but he was so passionate and everything so was that good or bad that he kept saying that as we were going further?

Guy has wife and 2 kids, 2 year old and 6 month baby. 7 years married.
Woman has husband and 2 kids, 4 and 7 yr old. 10 years married.

Two families breaking up after discovery they've had affair for over a year. They think they are soulmates and in true love. Like romeo and juliet in a forbidden love being oppressed by the antagonists (the real wife and husband).

So how often do those kind of relationships work out in long run? Some friends say it wont last, other people who've had similar affairs i know said theirs lasted less than 3 months once they were able to be together without the excitement of the affair, and seeing the other person on daily basis, and not just for sex in motels and dinners at restaurants.

But then you never know...it just be that true love that they risked everything for...
