I have been with my boyfriend for 3 years and 4 months now. I am 28, and he is 33. We both have great jobs and have established careers so money is not an issue. He has told me that he is not going anywhere and he will marry me "someday." I've been hearing this for nearly 2 years now. About 9 months ago we were having a conversation about it over the phone he was asking me when I want to get married. I told him it was hard to pick a wedding date when I haven't even received a proposal. Then he asked me if I would marry him. It wasn't the romantic proposal I had imagined, but I said yes. After that he never mentioned that conversation again and continued to say we would get married "someday" as though he had never actually proposed. I feel like he is stringing me along. How much longer should I wait?

I waited for 10 years. You just can't force someone to marry you.

He is taking you for granted and may string you along forever. try finding other things to do rather than spend time with him and either he will commit or you may meet someone who is more interested in you and willing to commit to you rather than take a chance on losing you. As long as he knows you are waiting there is no hurry for marriage but if you start not being there, he will either make that committment or lose interest intirely.

Its too long if they are screwing the lid down on you, however here is a sure fire method of steering him in the right direction ! cut off his ration !!! you know what I mean, it worked for the women of Troy many years ago and men have not changed at all since !!!. Cheers Pete
