If a girl likes a guy, and he flirts back a lot with her, but doesn't ask her out, would that girl wait for him? How long?

It's been made quite clear to me that although the person I love cares about me, he doesn't love me in the way I want him to. There's really nothing to do but move on from it. I know how to get over him, but he's also my best friend so I don't want to lose that. I just want to know how to lose the attraction that I feel toward him and go back to friendship love. Any thoughts?

He has lived with his Dad for 2 yrs. I don't do football and play playstation games. I am 45 and teach school. His sisters and I can shop....but I don't know what to converse with him about?
Any ideas somebody? When he was little it was so easy. Now he is into his truck, his friends, and his music. He says I repeat myself and he seems bored with me. It kinda hurts my feelings. He is a little on the quiet side anyway. Once in a while he will turn into a chatterbox and rattle for a long time. But those days are few and very far between. How can I connect with him? I feel like I am losing a son.

When do you know soemone likes you becaus there is this guy at my work. We would flirt with each other, but he is at least 17 years old, and I am 35years old. What should I do. I really enjoy his company, but we haven't gone on a date, but we flirt alot at work. But now since we have camares in our store we don't flirt anymore. Lately i am been feeling lonly because my so call boyfriend hasn't called me for 3months, so I turn to someone else for the attention. Thinking about it now I feel my alone now when I was actually alone. I hope people understand my meaing behind been alone. Before he came I was alone that's what I mean I feel alone now tan I was alone. Simce he move from Toronto to Richmondhill last year I have seen him once, and talked to him twice. I'm going through a divorce. I do not love my soon to be exwife. I havent for years. Now my friends tell me I should just be alone for awhile. I want a relationship. I want love and be loved. I want intimacy in many ways: emotionally, intelectually, spiritually, and yes physically. How can being alone meet those needs? The implication is that I shouldnt need those things but I do. Should I be alone just for the sake of being alone just to see what it's like? I have tended to jump from relationship to relationship, but this marriage lasted 8 years and I've felt alone for most of those so I'm ready NOW for a new relationship. Does anyone understand this "you should be alone" thing?

Do think if two people like each other then they should each take steps toward each other in kinda of a fair way, or something. i guess what im trying to say is, Is there really such thing as love at first sight and true love? This girl i like, i have this feeling that she likes me, she knows im nice, smart, goodlooking, and talented, and vice versa. She knows i would do anything for her, and that im patient. If anybody has a personality it has to be me, but i dont know what the problem is.
