I just had a baby & this is her only grandchild. She has only one son, my fiance, & she is very attached to him. She was there for my during the first stages of my preganacy, when my family was not. Since my son has been born she wants to be over everyday. Calls at least 3 times a day while work to check on the baby, see how he slept, ate, pooped, etc. She pokes advice about feedings and what to ask to doctor. Every time she is around, I rarely get to hold him, feed him, play with him. My son is only a month old & I have to go back to work soon. I am upset about going back & want to spend every day with him unitl I go back. I feel like I am treated like a babysitter and not his mom. I know that I'm a new mom but I have been around children all of my life. How do I deal with her, esp. when i do not like confontation?
He does not want to fight with her, so he lets her win and plus "that's the way she is" I then get told, she cares and my family doesn't, bc they don't "check up" on me.

i just found out that my former high school band director is dating a former student of his. i heard that they have been going out sice last december SHE WAS STILL IN SCHOOL!!

we always thought something was going on between them but i think this is too far....12 years between them....

my daughter has been in the nicu in a hospital an hour away from home since monday. She was born on sunday, a month early. i have 3 kids at home and have been taking the drive back and forth to the hospital, staying with my baby, then coming home to be here for my other girls. very little sleep, very little money, lots of stress.
today i talked with 2 of the other nicu moms, i felt guilty for the blessings i have, because i dont apreciate them as much as i should...both of these women had thier babys at least 3 months early, one only wieghed 1 lb. 6 oz. they had both had a previouse stillbirth, neither had any other living children, and here i am, getting to take her home any day, with 3 other beuitiful children at home, and i'm completely wraped up in how much stuff is going on in my life. i am so much more fortunate than many others, i think by understanding that no matter how bad things are, someone else is or has suffered more...
what makes you appreciate your blessings more?

personality wise he dosent seem shy (except when Im around). we dont really talk cause were so shy around one another. Usually im a take and go kind of girl. but I get so nervous (once my friend said she could see my heart beating through my neck when he was around). I think he feels the same way but sadly its been the whole summer since Ive seen him. I dont think he has hooked up with anyone simply because he just dosent seem to be that type of person.( not that I could positively know). But what can I do to make my chances different from the others.
by the way im 5'11'' and Im this amazon/ modelesque curvy body that for some stupid reason hasnt gotten me anyone I want. maybe its intimidating but is it ugly? what should I do?

The over-the-counter release of the morning after pill can only mean STDs will skyrocket. The same thing happened when they released them in England, why wouldn't the results be any different here? I am EXTREMELY worried about this. I want to be able to find an clean man, I don't think this is a lot to ask. I'm only 20 and a college sophomore, so I still have a few years yet anyway until I'd even think about getting married but I just hope that the day when my future guy proposes to me, I'll ask him "Are you clean?" and the response will be yes. I know STD rates are different in certain regions- I'm from WI if that helps (but not from a big city like Milwaukee). Also, I'm 100% clean (I don't need any testing because have no desire to give my virginity to anyone that's not my husband), but my worry is will he be infected?

I saw my father in 2004 after like 10 years. (I was probaly 2 10 years ago, counting from 2004) We talk on the phone but I barely say anything. I have alot of questions to ask but when I talk to him my mind goes blank. I don't know why. This has got to be why so many people fall in and out of love. At the beginning of any relationship, we need a whole lot more from the other person, so we develop a "love" for them. Once we've gotten what we wanted, I.E., companionship, sex, someone to count on, or take care of us, the need goes away, and therefore, the love dies down. When people say they Love somebody, they're really saying the "need" them, but in a way that's appealing to the other sex, and doesn't make them come off as "needy."

Like all relationships, the love gets tiresome and boring, because we have satisfied our needs. If love was truely love, then it wouldn't ever die down, but since love is actually "need," then of course it dies down, because all needs can eventually be satisfied and forgotten
