I had several wish to do this. Sometimes there are very cool guys in the subway and I hear their music coming from the headphones. I know it is a band I like and I smile. He understands and he smiles back. But we keep on listening to our music and go our own separate ways. It's like a part of being human. You can talk to people and smile at people without a plan or a relationship.

Just smile and say hello or Hi. Carry a book you have read, hopefully something interesting that you have read.
You can ask her if she has read it, even if she hasn't, you at least have a conversation going on. And something to discuss.
