I am in need of advice. My sister is pregnant with her second child. She has asked me to watch her first child until the baby is born so that she can continue to work. She is very funny about leaving her with a sitter. I agreed to help, even though I recently started a business that is very successful. I am putting it on hold to help her. My husband says that I need to babysit here at my home (I have two chidlren as well) and this has made her mad. She would rather me get my two kids up and ready every day to take over to her house at 7:00am. Now, she won't let me take her daughter anywhere during the day. I was going to take all of the kids swimming tommorow, and she says it would be too much. I feel like the rest of my summer is going to be ruined because I can't take my kids anywhere to have fun. Am I being selfish? She said that she would continue to look for a sitter, but when I mentioned it she got upset and said that she just has no one else. Advice? Suggestions?

I have a hard time understanding the need to act like one is single while one is claiming to want to be married. So many of my friends have husbands or long term relationships where the guy acts like he is single-not doing his part and meeting marriage commitments - like finances, raising kids, household chores etc. Maybe us girls got it backwards or do we have the wrong men?

my brother is a BIG show off in front of other people. he acts as if he's tougher than me and smarter, and he's only 8, i'm 12. i don't do ANYTHING to him, and my mom doesn't do anything about it! his behiavior is really embarrassing. he always wants to go places i go to w/ my friends and he always gets his way and acts like a brat. what do i do? i cant live w/ this!!!

The other day I was tidying up my bathroom, and had my stereo on to a hip-hop/rap station. The volume wasn't up really loud or anything, either.

My father came up the stairs, heard the song, and instantly said, "You're not listening to that type of music, are you?" I opened my mouth to say, "No, of course not," but then I realized that what type of music I listen to is my choice, not his, and instead responded, "Yeah, I am."

Both my parents dislike rap, and are now constantly lecturing me because I actually listen to it and like it. They also seem to dislike country, and really any type of music that doesn't fit into their preferred genres of oldies and classic rock. I listen to more a varied selection of music, so we often disagree on music choices.

So my questions are, how much should I let them influence me, and how can I get them to realize that it's okay for me not to like the same types of music as them?

I have nothing in common with my husband. I would go out with him and struggle to talk about something and he doesn't talk to me. We went out the other night and thank God we had other people at our table. They left to mingle and we sat there in silence. I tried to talk and bring up a good topic that he likes to talk about and nothing.
So the next night I went out with friend for a fundraiser for Breast Cancer research and I had a ball. My friends and I talked all night practically and it was awesome....

I told him I finally talked to a divorce lawyer the other day and he asked if I'd wait to file until he talks to one, which I said okay. Well I got served with divorce papers yesterday. Here I was trying to be nice to him and he, once again, lied which has been our entire problem - he's a pathological liar. We're still in the same house and i just need some pep talks, folks. I truly dispise this person. I guess my pride is hurt a little that he turned around and filed on me first - before I had even talked to my lawyer - but I was trying to be nice about it.

my friend is in the dominican republic... often in phone conversations she or her voice appears like she is going to sleep or is very tired her voice fades out like a record player slowing down... also at times at the end of a sentence a sort of laugh.. it is hard to describe.. or just sort of laugh a little like someone just tickled you... i know it is some kind of drug ..also would sex make a womans voice change . i am confused i need an answer.. i know it is something and she insists she does not take drugs.. but something causes her voice to change.. and sort of hiccup at the end of sentences..??i need to know before i get involved.. also would this drug in a absentence from it cause a person to be anti social.. that is not want to be close at times...sleep with your clothes on. not want to be touched.. would this be a sign of withdrawyl ??? or need of this drug....///

Have been speaking to this guy I really like and have been careful not to call too often or come on too strong but sometimes I just feel so much affection that I am afraid it all shows...he doesnt seem to mind but I am scared that he might get turned off if there is no chase....

I am a 9th grader now. and I have liked a certian Girl, sience the 6th grade. She found out when i was in the 6th grade. but i was too shy around her to do anything about it. Now i know her, but am not reall a "Friend" as much as a person she knows. I do know her AIM. But am too shy to tell her that I like her. and i dont want to scare her away. I would like to talk to her in any other way than AIM. But i dont see her b/c its the summer. And i am going to a diffrent school than her this year. But still live in the same city. and I really dont know what to do. I cant look at a picture of any girl without thinking about her. She is the most important thing to me. I really just dont know what to do.

She is online on AIM now, but i can't seem to bring myself to tell her. And the only other way i know to tell her is Through Myspace.

There is a Question that has been bugging me. Ive been with my boyfriend for 6 years and sometimes it feels like time has taken it's toll on us. We've been up and downs and more downs. So my question is, is it normal for a couple to quarrel 4-5 days a week? Are there any couple around who've been through the same problem as me? Like aruging in an hour after meeting or arguing over something silly, that leads to an eruption of problems..and is it wise to continue ?
