and he has a terrible drinking problem and when he drinks he likes to get drunk and hit on me, so this weekend he did just that and I had him arrested. I still haven't pressed charges on him but I am thinking that I should to show him that he needs to change and that I am serious about not wanting to be with him anymore if he can't get help what should I do?

I lost touch with a friend of mine about a year ago. There were some issues with her new husband and basically the rest of the world. She refuses to even have contact with her sister. I've tried to find her on myspace and I've done some general searches online but I would really like to contact this person. I just have some things I need to say to her and it's been bothering me. The only problem is she's my first cousin. I did a little research on the internet on this topic. I found that having a child by a cousin is only at a slightly higher risk for birth defects than marrying a genetic stranger. I even checked out the religious views (she's a christian, I'm a secular humanist at best, agnostic at worst) and Leviticus 18 (the section dealing with relationships) has nothing about cousin marriages being bad. They aren't even mentioned. I guess I just want to her some advice and/or thoughts.

My ex and I had been together for about 13 years. We had 2 children together, now 6 & 7 yrs. old. For the past 5 yrs. he has been very abusive, verbally and physiclly. I left him almost a year ago, after the last time he was abusive. He had hit me many times in the head & face, burnt me with a cigarette 3 times and caused permanent damage to my knee and put a knife to my throat and said he was going to kill me. My children saw most of this when it was happening. I pressed charges against him, but the grand jury lowered everything to misdemeanors, even though they had the hospital records and pictures from the hospital. Now we still have to go to court over it again. I feel like I'm wasting my time. And I'm afraid he'll get his visitation with our kids back. I am not the only one who has gotten charges on him for this type of thing, he has a big record. But always gets out of everything. He is an alcoholic and I think he has a cocaine problem. Sometimes I'm to scared to sleep.

There was a mexican guy at our firework show tonight. He can not speak but a couple sentences of Spanish and I can only speak basic Spanish things. But we managed to talk a few sentences here and there (after I thought very hard about each word lol). Then he was on his phone for like 30 mintues talking in spanish and eventually got off and handed me a peice of paper with his phone number on it. He seemed like a nice guy. So when he pointed to the paper and pen (asking for mine) I decided it couldn't do any harm... Should I have done that? And what kind of phone convo will we be able to have lol. There is one more thing... he is 24 and I am only 17. Oops? (BTW finding out eachothers ages took awhile too)

In your opinion, what do you think of the popular girls at school who are preps.
