I do it as a habit......Maybe I am trying to get a point across and want someone to think about what I am saying........Only reason, hun......Take care

When leaving out words, or text sometimes it is prefered to add ... at end of sentence. Though this practice is not APA format.

It is to express a pause as if speaking.
Example "You need to leave....now!"

It's called an ellipsis :-) And you can use it to trail off, or... you know, other stuff... like pausing, or being vague...

Yes....it is a visual reference to when people are....um....thinking. Or, they could be trailing off for you to fill in the rest, don't you think.........?
