What I have in mind is that I want to dig a hole and pour in the extra animal fat that is collected from cooking.

It may not be a smart thing to do considering it can indeed be used for biofuel, but where I live, there aren't any biofuel centers where I can drop it off.

So my main questions are whatever it is good or bad for the soil. Would it benefit the plants or microbes that feed upon it? If it is possible to go with the alternative, are there any places in Northern California where I can recycle it?

I request smart & meaningful answers for this question, please.

why don't we all just not exist..... eat grass, live in recycled cardboard boxes, walk to the beach from kentucky, not wear clothes, etc, etc. face it, producing and consuming is what makes the world go round. it really irritates me that everyone is preaching about going green. solar panneling and special light bulbs arn't built from thin air, and neither are home appliances, and hybrid cars. they are built at factories. that produce polution. it really is a lost cause. honestly, i really think it is a scam and i don't buy it.

Not sure what happend.

Im in a debate. The coin didnt end on my side. I have to debate that global warming isnt real. We do this for fun.

Im getting blasted with scientific data. Here are my 2 arguments so far. I could back them up okay.

1. Planes flying. They leave a contrail. Thus the sun's rays bounces off the contrail and it keeps the earth cooler. This was proven during 9-11 when all the planes were grounded.

2. I think all vegetarians should eat cows. Cows make alot of methane gas with their poop. If we ate more cows we would have less poop. Less methane, less ozone.

As you can tell, Im on the wrong side. I need any help. Those were the only 2 things I could think of that made sense. That actually had scientific data. I need help.

Dont get me wrong im not debating what I think, Im debating a side that I lost. But I still want to win.

I'm specifically looking into the environmental impact of storing and/or destroying VHS tapes and CDs as it relates to the entertainment industry. What do they do with all the millions of VHS tapes and CDs used in pre through post production (i.e. for logging, annotating, transcibing, editing, etc.)? What are the environmental costs and hazards of storing them? And what are the environmental costs and hazards of destroying them?

And, if anyone has any statistics as to how many of these tapes and DVDs an average production and/or movie studio goes through, I could use that info too. Thanks!

Green cars are the best solution to keep our environment clean; but we, poor people, cannot afford to get one, and everybody knows that we are everywhere....

Assuming that solar cells can be made inexpensively and are efficient (I know this isn't the case), wouldn't the cells absorb the energy that would otherwise be reflected back into the atmosphere? Also when I mean large, I don't mean square feet, but several square miles of solar cells.

What are some different ways that cars can run without gasoline? I know I've heard people talk about making cars run out of something made out of corn, and I've heard of solar-powered cars.

What other methods are engineers exploring to help conserve oil?
