I am concerned about these people.

Go to BP's alternative energy website and you'll notice that they plan on spending 8 billion dollars over the next 10 years on alternative energy R&D. This includes solar, wind, hydrogen and natural gas. Given the fact that we're in a state of complete disarray with the oil situation in our world with many factors contributing to refinery shortages, crude production, etc., you would think that big-oil would be spending a few more dollars on the alternatives. With that said, is BP, et al just giving us all lip service or are they serious about finding a better way. I know that they want their profits to keep rolling in based upon their current business model, but there will come a time when the old way of doing business costs too much (exploration, hurricanes, wars, etc).
Your thoughts on how we can help push them into embracing these technologies and making them viable alternatives for real world applications.

Science is not science until the study has been reproduced by other researchers. The peer-review process only weeds out obvious errors but does not reproduce the study and cannot weed out more subtle errors or efforts to defraud.

If a scientist does not archive his data or provide supplemental data to other researchers who request it, then he is trying to contravene the testability requirement of the scientific method. This is not science but pseudoscience.

Global warming climate scientists are trying their best to prevent Stephen McIntyre from auditing their science. McIntyre has found several errors and is the one who broke Michael Mann's Hockey Stick.
See http://www.uoguelph.ca/~rmckitri/research/Climate_L.pdf

Now Malcolm Hughes at the University of Arizona has attempted to block McIntyre's IP address from accessing their website.

What are they trying to hide?

I am not going to accuse him of being paid to take on a brief. But to my mind there are remarkable similarities in his presentation of the case against man made global warming to that of a very talented lawyer defending someone who 'is as guilty as a puppy on a carpet beside a pile of poo' (Blackadder - British TV comedy)

Any comments - good natured please as Mr Jello always is.

Instead of transporting bottles of drink from out-of town stores to our homes, if every street corner had a bar we could walk to, would that reduce carbon emmissions?

Vast factories, huge fleets of lorries, consumers loading bottles into their cars; recycling and landfill of glass and plastic etc.
Tap water is cleaner and cheaper. So, should bottled water be banned?

This scenario is in 100 years time and there are a lot of hydrogen refueling stations (for cars that run on fuel cells) and you have to convert these to liquid nitrogen refueling stations (for liquid nitrogen cars) because liquid nitrogen cars are "better" and the way to go. Is this even possible? Or would building an all new refueling station would be the best way? Any answers would be greatly appreciated =)

Here's the 10 year moving average temps...

2007 - 14.607°C
1997 - 14.481°C
1987 - 14.274°C
1982 - 14.182°C
1977 - 14.093°C
1967 - 13.987°C
1957 - 13.976°C

In the last 50 years temps have increased by 0.631°C and by 0.426°C in the last 25 years. Could this be a natural cycle and if so when did temps last increase at this sort of rate?

I have several times seen the claim that it is? Is this an accepted fact? I would be most grateful for some references. I have heard that global warming in increasing moisture in the air can increase precipitation. Is this a possible cause? Is increasing mass of Antarctic snow/ice (assuming there is an increase) of any significance in terms of possible rises in ocean levels? Is it incorporated into climate models?

There is a big thing about saving the planet, being 'Green', recycling, using less electricity, reducing pollution, etc at the moment. There is alot of pressure on individuals to do their bit at home but what about companies? Where i work is very wastefull but there doesnt seem to be anyone going on at them about it! They produce alot more waste that could be recycled, for example then i ever could!

What can we do to get policy-makers to implement a forward-thinking strategy?

The media wont publish / print the story about what they should be doing! It's "too controversial" they say! The media are all part of the conspiracy to rip us off, aren't they? All they want to do is make money out of our misery!

The link provided will give more detail... but basically we are living in the midst of one (if not the) most thorough period of mass extinction ever on the earth. The scholars agree, across the board, that this due primarily to human activity. Eventually the extinction will have very negative effects on humans as well. It is an often overlooked disaster. What can be done to curtail this problem. Please use as many words as you need to explain yourself and provide links to plans to solve this problem.
