Ahhh... The true desire of the warmers. To increase taxes to insure others act and do as you desire them to. Once others succumb to your desires, then global warming goals will be meet.

If the glass buildings cause a greenhouse effect inside them, the residents will use less fossil fuel to heat the building. Proper shading will negate the additional cooling cost in summer. Why would you tax something like that?

That is a very intriguing question. I feel the insight behind this is that if fthe windows are producing a glare alongside temperatures that affect the atmosphere then Yes. I believe not only should they be taxed but just like peoples rent I feel the rate of tax should increase with projected damage levels projected in due time. They should have them either coated or removed and replaced with new and enhanced mirrors that don't produce so much heat into our ozone. I mean c'mon the technology is there.

As above glass can be made with a variety of useful properties depending on location. The best approach is probably to regulate that new buildings should be energy neutral (or near energy neutral) and leave the architects and engineers to work out how. In this scenario good use of appropriate types of glass will often be part of the solution.

There should be an environmental tax in every nature-destructive techniques. Indeed there is already an international body that confers fines to the actors who's ways of doing their business leads to the destruction of the environment. Paradoxically, that international body (even in domestic institutions) is not strict in implementing of such.

It goes without saying that most, if not all, big business institution is more powerful that they learn ways to find to be exempted and refrain from being taxed if not banned.

Ah yes, the liberal thinkers answer to everything. Tax the producer so the non-producers can live better. We can all live like the Cubans and North Koreans in Communist bliss. You gotta love it.

No, glass is an excellent insulator and is a good building material to use. Why should there be an extra tax?
