Do you find it Ironic that the area of the United States currently getting hit the hardest by Global Warming is the Republican Deep South?

I'm not sure if that's entirely true. If it is, then yes it is ironic...and perhaps also useful in the long run because it might help to even out the public opinion.

Well the Gulf Coast in the South generally gets hit hardest during hurricane season, and some areas have been hit by droughts (so has the southwest).

I think that's only fair. A lot more fair than third world countries facing the brunt of the consequences of rich nations' emissions.

I'm not aware that there's anything happening over and above what would be expected. I'm not in the US but I do tend try to keep an eye on what's happening weather and climate wise around the world. Do you have a link or perhaps you could add more details.

There was a certain irony to Katrina but I think the tragedy of such an event far outweighs any irony.

Not here in Texas. We normally have 12 to 20 days of temperatures of 100 deg plus ,but this year we have had 1 day. To me that looks like global cooling.

No, but it is ironic that suggesting that such a localized area is representative of climate change is ironic for being so far outside of reality.

Where is most of the natural gas produced?
Deep South.
Who would benefit the most if coal consumption was decreased?
Gas Companies.
Who do you really think is behind the attack on GW?
The people who stand to benefit the most, Gas companies.
