For top contributors and expert answerers. Byderule asked a question about another unfair suspension. The unfair suspension has had his account reinstated.

So they have SUSPENDED BYDERULE'S ACCOUNT FOR ASKING ABOUT THE UNFAIR SUSPENSION.

Is this fair? Does it encourage expert answerers to continue contributing?

by just telling us what the climate is going to be like in 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, and 5 years from now? And telling us how they came to their conclusions so we could check their math?

If they were able to do that, what basis would anyone have to deny their findings?

I think that would just shut up all the deniers, wouldn't it?

Think about it. I live in the country and being a male, it is just as convenient to take a whizz outside than inside. Therefore, no electricity is used to pump water from my well to refill the toilet, which means I use no electricity peeing, which means no coal is burned to generate the electricity. If I pee outside my whole life, will it offset enough carbon for even one of Al Gore's jet trips? If all the males peed outside, think of all that carbon not placed in the air, and you get the lawn watered to boot.

I have a avalanche truck which I am able to use Ethanol in. I was so excited with the high gas prices. What a relief. NOT REALLY!!! It is a lot nicer to fill my tank for about 20 bucks less, BUT I get the worst Mileage when I use it. I would rather pay for the expensive fuel, and get better mileage. I know it is better for the environment....but I cant fill up 2 to my 1 time just for that. Any suggestions?

The California legislature has been wrestling with signing a budget for months now. They had to either cut must needed programs or raise taxes. Since the price of gas is draining the pocketbooks of many Californians it was decided that those least affected by a gas tax hike would be hybrid car owners. So effective January 1, 2008 all owners of hybrids will be taxed an additional quarter a gallon. Actually the way it will work is that when you buy gas at the pump the quarter per gallon will be included in the price. When you file your state income tax for 2008 in 2009 you will be given a credit for all the extra gas tax you paid in 2008 (with proper documentation) except for those who have a hybrid registered in their name.
I would like your opinion on this bill SB98556.

Do dead light bulbs that you leave plugged in consume energy? For instance, in my bathroom, I have a vanity light fixture with 4 CFL bulbs. Two of them have burned out already and I was wondering if it mattered whether I removed them or not.

It spewed more toxic chemicals in the air than all of man made pollution since the beginning of the industrial age? It actually lowered the entire earth's temp by 1.2 degrees.
Think you are contributing to global warming? The earth doesnt even know we are here.

Simply put- if you melt the polar ice caps, ocean levels rise, more water surface to evaporate, more moisture in the atmosphere - more rain,, well you get the idea.

But is there enough water to fill in most valleys, and rivers causing an "island" type landscape rather than the large land masses we see today?

How can anyone say that in a hundred years the climate will change to this extent or to that extent? Global warming advocates are most guilty of this but recently so is the global cooling side. This is arrogant beyond belief. Everyone who has ever watched the news knows that weather cannot be predicted accuratly into the next 12 hours, so why do these people think they can tell us how the weather will be in the year 2107? This questions is not pro or anti global warming, it is just a heads up to people not to believe what you hear from the media or certain enviromental groups about the future of Earth's climate.

Where I live we have plenty of wind and sunlight. I am going to build a combination of those 2 types. It will cost a bit to get into but once its done I will be independent and can reasonably say I am doing everything I can to get off of polluting energy.

They tend to think creationism is correct, many go for the 5,000 year old earth idea. Adding this all together they heap derision on science but then take up the arguement in a very strenuous fashion that global climate change is completely natural. How would they know? They werent there when it happened (one of the great genius arguements that creationists use), there are no books from that time?
