We as a people need to come together to put a stop to these Mad Scientist claiming that TransFat Oil, all these chemicals in these fast food frozen foods, Burgers etc are good for us
while our bypass is eating up our ozone.
along with gas emission.
Any thoughts?

Global warming has three sects.

One believes that global warming is caused by man's use of fossil fuels.

One believes that global warming is caused by the output of the sun.

The other believes that global warming is a natural occurrence caused by a changing earth.

Each sect has their scientist who have written well thought out dissertations that passed peer review and published in prestigious magazines and trade papers.

Each sect has their views attacked by those who don't believe exactly the same way. Those that believe man is the cause are the most militant of the three.

Who you believe as right is dependent on you you believe is the most plausible. None of these have been proven as scientific fact. Whom you choose is a matter of your personal preference.

So if you think global warming is our fault, you believe that for your own emotional beliefs.

OK, for all of you republican, imbeciles who say that Global Warming isn't our fault, lets clear a few things up. First of all there are two types of Global Warming. The type of warming the majority of you people are talking about is the natural MODEST warming, but ever since humans became a factor of the equation (when we began to burn fossil fuels excessively for energy) our actions has caused an UNNATURAL amount of Carbon Dioxide to be present in the atmosphere. This is causing the second, UNNATURAL type of Global Warming.

To give my opinion on the person's thoughts who asked the question "Is Global Warming our Fault?” I disagree with the illusion that ethanol is the answer to all of our transportation needs, and that it's the solution for energy needs. Sorry to all of those who think that it is, but it's not for four reasons.
1). Ethanol contains less energy than oil, which directly effects mileage.
2). The cost of Ethanol can be significantly higher that oil, it all depends on where you live.
3). The infrastructure isn't there yet. Meaning stations that provide this fuel aren't available yet, and the means of transporting the fuel aren't in place yet like they are for oil.
4). ANYTHING THAT IS CARBON BASED WILL EMIT CO2 WHEN BURNED!!!!! If you burn something that is carbon based it has stored CO2, which is released when it is burned.
In conclusion, Global Warming (type 2) is real and is occurring now (and it can be stopped!!!), and we need to find, or create another energy source for our transportation needs because Ethanol isn't as good as gas and car companies would lead you to believe (they do this because ethanol is something that they can profit off of by appealing to environmentalist and conservationist).

Is it our fault?

http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/img/climate/research/2007/jun/glob-jan-jun-pg.gif

The 19Th century was the last period of the little Ice Age, most people believe that regardless of what humans would or could have done in the twentieth century the climate would have warmed. It has been going on for millions of years, the climate is either warming or cooling it is just the nature of things.

The next twenty years should validate or invalidate some of the competing theories about mechanisms that drive climatic change and give some insight into the correct answer to your question. The climate is far more complicated than basic physics are capable of modeling. I have been studying the answer to your question for a decade now and I personally am convinced that is not our fault.

While it is important to know the truth, the quest to find alternatives to our lifestyle that eliminates some of our need for fossil fuel should benefit humanity.

Yes in my opinion global warming is our fault. All of these industries we have produce greenhouse gases into the air such as co2, methane, and carbon monoxide.

It has already been proven that greenhouse gases keep the earth warm and more greenouse gases in their than their was will make it warmer. That is exactly what is happening now. all the exhaust that comes from the cars, machines, and other tools man has made today.

However we can change global warming climate change or whatever you call it. Cut down greenouse gas emmissions any way you can. Switch to more energy efficient lightbulbs. Get a hybrid car or alternative fuel car and plant trees. If everyone on earth did this millions upon millions of extra greenhouse gases would elimanated restoring the earth to its normal cycles.

Also dont think the thought: the earths atmosphere is so big and we are so small, how could we possibly be making a difference? Well this thought is wrong. The earth's atmosphere is vast, but also very thin like the skin of an onion and can be very easily affected.

Thank you for your time.

I think awareness on a global scale is very important. Yes, if someone changes their oil on the side of the road and lets it drain down the street it ends up in the ocean. But, when we wash our clothes, where's the rinse cycle taking that soap?

Using eco-friendly products will make a difference and it sure would be nice if the eco-friendly products cost the same as the toxic products. If more people purchased them, the mass production would help keep costs competitive.

Also, as far as gas emission is concerned, we use FFI's products (my husband has a trucking business) and we've been pleasantly pleased. It improves MPG while reducing emissions by up to 75%. We save about $300/month on gas.

Stop watching so much TV. You are being scared to death for no good reason. You are so scared, you're mixing problems. GW is one thing. Our polluted food system is another, REAL, problem.
The earth's atmosphere is naturally 3% CO2. OF THAT 3%, about 7% can be traced to man made sources. Now calculate that together and you get 0.21% man made greenhouse gases. That is FAR below any margin for error. Just use your best economic sense, and simple economics will do what Al Gore cannot. Fear is the wrong response to global warming. USE YOUR MIND!

I've never heard anyone claiming that stuff is good for you. We all know it isn't but people eat it anyway because they don't care. The wording of your question is a bit odd...but I do think that these things are as bad for the environment as they are for our bodies. I try to tell people all the time that fast food and meat products are a major environmental pollutant but they rarely listen (even those who claim to be concerned about global warming). They will say that factory farming has little effect, trying to rationalize their taste buds. I think there's something addictive about that stuff; people seem to have withdrawls from it like a smoker trying to quit.

GLOBAL WARMING IS MOSTLY OUR FAULT. SOME IS NATURAL.
PEOPLE WOULD NOT BE SO UNHEALTHY IF THEY ATE BETTER AND IN PROPER PORTIONS.
ALSO OUR FOOD IS CONTAMINATED BEFORE IT COMES TO US FROM PESTICIDES AND THE JUNK THEY FEED THE ANIMALS.
ALL OF THIS MAKES ALL OF US SICK, JUST IN DIFFERENT WAYS.
IN A COUPLE OF YEARS MUTATED ANIMALS OUTSIDE OF AMERICA WILL BE SLAUGHTERED AND THE MEAT WILL BE SOLD HERE. IT HAS ALREADY BEEN OK'ED.
EUROPE SAID NO ALONG WITH SOME OTHER COUNTRIES.
THEY SAY THE MEAT WILL BE FINE. DO YOU BELIEVE THEM? I DON'T.
I WAS THINKING OF BECOMING A VEGETARIAN BUT THAT FOOD IS CONTAMINATED AND I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH PROPERTY TO GROW MY OWN.
I DO ALREADY HAVE SOME FRESH VEGES IN MY FREEZER THAT I PUT THROUGH A PROCESSOR AND USE TO COOK OR DRINK.
ANOTHER THING THAT HELPS IS WHEN YOU GRAB FOOD AT A SUPER MARKET USE A BAG TO PICK IT UP. SOME PEOPLE LOOK AT YOU STRANGE AND I EXPLAIN THAT IT IS SAFER FOR THEM AND EVERYONE IF MORE PEOPLE DID THIS.

The planet goes through natural cycles, but global warming is our fault. Don't let anyone tell you it can be stopped, because it simply isn't economically viable to do anything about it. Just don't have children.

Yes. What makes you think Global warming is for real?

It is nothing more than a political ploy. Check your facts before you jump aboard the Al Gore 'spin' wagon.
