We hear about global warming, greenhouse effect, planting of more trees, species going extinct within some degree of time - does it matter to you at all and what do you try to do to save the planet?

The burning of fossil fuels to generate electricity has gone on for years, similar for Nuclear energy. Windfarms seem to offer a great alternative, being a "green" way to produce energy, and are popular over Europe.

Why do people, especially the local population, object when a wind farm is proposed somewhere in the UK..? Would this not be a good thing...?

Now I've not really caught onto this whole global warming, 'zero emmisions' fad that's currently on a few people's lips. But is it me or does everyone stop going on about it when it rains and as soon as the sun comes out and it's a lovley hot day everyone goes off on one about how we're ruining the earth...!?

I'm saying this as where I live, England, we're going through what could only be described as the wettest and most boring summer ever and no one's saying anything on the news and all the adverts have come off the tv!!

I've heard this argument a lot recently and wondered what you all thought - do you think that the impact of the greenhouse effect on our planet is exaggerated by governments in an effort to increase the amount of money they get from environmental taxes?

It seems to me that Governments are just looking for an easy way to tax us more - so blame global warming. I believe that the earth has always done things in cycles and so we should just accept that! Experts dont tell us about the amounts of gases given of by volcanoes (a natural occurence). They just bombard us with loads of figures so that the gullible will think oops I have to do my bit, when really nature is in control here, with or without our help. What do you think?

At $4.00/gal for fuel one could drive 100,000 miles and still not break even with regards to the extra cost of the hybrid feature. How many batteries will have been replaced during this period and at what cost? What other energy resources will be required (electricity/natural gas, diesel) to dispose of the spent batteries and at what cost? What about the energry and materials to make the batteries in the first place? Can these batteries just be thrown in the land fills along with the other garbage?

It came out in 96. Anyone know if they are gonna be produced again? I know a bunch of people leased them when they were made but were forced to turn them in after the lease ended and all the cars except one were crushed.

water , if things continue the way they are with the use of greenhouse gases, in the next 100 years or so? if so, since we will all be dead by then, do you worry that you will lose all value on your property in coastal areas?

OK So I installed this enormous skylight (a pyramid about 1800 x 1800mm (6' square) into my bathroom and I noticed that there is a lot of heat there in summer and also in winter. It happens to be a great room for picking pimples in.. all our guests comment so. Anyway... I was thinking I could use the thermal mass of water to retain some of the heat gained during winter days and the water would re-readiate that heat into my house.. I was thinking of buying slabs of Fosters lager cans and sticking them together then lining the outside of the cans with some mini-orb powdercoted corrugated steel panels so that heat transfers readily. Because te room is small I can shut the door and not lose much thermal storage through the skylight at night... and in summer, I can shade the skylight so that the beer cans stay cooler.

Is this going to work? What do you think?

OK so I have to knuckle down and save some money because my son thinks he wants to be an Architect... And I have pulled out all the lawn and I have planted seasonal fruit trees, nut trees and assorted berries and a few cabbages, some spinach and onions, some herbs, five grape vines and some passionfruit vines and a mango tree... and I have a water harvesting system and I have installed solar panels that collect solar energy and I sell it back to the local power authority and buy power from them as I need it. I have also heavily insulated all my walls and roof, double glazed my windows, bricked up windows that interfere with my energy efficiency, I've installed draft stoppers and sealed windows and doors and made air locks. I have installed a solar heated swimming pool on my roof for additional thermal insulation.

I was just thinking that some hens and some ducks would be useful around the garden. Can you keep them in the city? What do you think? Can you kill em and eat em?

i mean with such great things like joseph newmans energy machine which can power anything even charge un-chargeable batteries. and imagine that combine with the technologies we have used since 1996 fully electric cars that go freeway speeds. (google who killed the electric car)

that itself will eliminate sooo much pollution, not to mention get rid of most power plants of the world and replace them with super joe newman energy machines which do not make pollution. (www.josephnewman.com)

then we have more informations today like the rife machine which can be used to cure every disease even the government is looking into using frequency generators like the rife machine to clean water instead of highly debated chems like chlorine and flouride. (google royal rife, rife machines, hulda clark, hulda clark zapper)

with disease and pollution almost done for how great will it be i can't wait for new jersey shores to look beautiful again.
