I watched Al Gore's documentary "An Inconvenient Truth" yesterday. I could not believe how bleak the earth's future looks. If something isn't done immediately it will be too late. How can Bush ignore the real and present danger of global warming?

The purpose is to create awareness among us about global warming and to get the leaders of the world's richest nations to sign a treaty...but most people are already aware about global warming, they are just not taking actions to help the environment. and then the performers travel to other countries to perform plus the transportation of props and stuff...don't these contribute to global warming too?!

Isn't it hypocrisy....or what?

I have heard every idea under the sun about the environment -but what I am not hearing are ideas about reforesting the earth. Most of the areas where it doesn't rain have NO TREES - well, we send food to Africa and places where it doesn't rain - I bet if we sent trees and watered the trees in addition to the food we are sending in several generations there would be plenty of rainfall there enough to water their crops and everything. Look at arizona - a place that was desolate and where it never rained -now it rains there. After years of irrigation and watering crops and planting trees. It makes a difference. We have had generations where they chopped down the trees and now we have global warming - but in all these talks about global warming nobody talks about reforesting the planet. - it's the one thing we can all do.

What do you think?

I want your opinion on this.

I was talking to this so called friend of mine who kept telling me Global Warming is a scam and thats its not real. That media is making it up. I however, don't agree.
I want to know what you think?
What are the facts????

I'm not changing my mind, though. I have seen, heard, read enough to know its real. But I'm not talking to him anymore. I blocked him on everything because he started cussing me out and calling me unitelligent and i don't take that from anyone. But anyways, off subject a little :P, just tell me what your opinion on Global Warming is :]

I don't have a problem with people who examine the scientific evidence on anthropogenic global warming and aren't convinced. I don't understand them, but at least they looked at the data.

The people who come to a conclusion based on a lack of information really tick me off though. If we are causing global warming - as the scientific experts agree is the case - this is the most important issue in human history. Yet you get people here who say 'Global warming is BS because it snowed today' or 'I don't believe GW exists, who's with me?'. Geez, take 5 seconds and look at a freaking global temperature graph!

Then there's the people who say 'one volcano eruption emits more CO2 than humans have in 5,000 years' or 'carbonation in soda and beer is responsible for global warming' or 'cow farts cause global warming'.

Are they too lazy to take a few minutes to research this critical issue, or do they simply not want to learn the truth that humans are responsible for global warming?

Live Earth was really stupid if they are trying to be environmentally conscious. I mean think about it, all those people driving there, all the electricity being used, and all the materials to build it. Everyone was already aware that our environment is declining, so that was the stupidest thing ever!

I was watching the news the other day and Al Gore was talking about how the polar caps are melting. This one subject makes no sense to me. If the caps were really melting, water levels world wide would be rising. Coastal cities like Miami, Seattle, St. Petersburg, and Sydney would all be flooded or flooding, but their not. In fact, water levels in these regions haven't changed at all in the last century.
Besides, a large portion of the poles melt in the summer and refreeze in the winter it's been going on for millions of years. Which I guess that's why we only hear about global warming in the summer.

Who is making money off of this push and where is it going? Live Aid went for starvation in Africa, Farm Aid to help American farmers.

Where EXACTLY is the money going for this nonsense? I'll bet you a million hanging chads that Al Gore is moving up a tax bracket or two.

Did anyone catch the performance during Live Earth from the Lateran Church in Rome? It was a boys choir doing some dreck about mother earth or some crap, but they superimposed religious imagery behind them. Just having it in a church was bad enough I thought but to have the image of Christ involved?! We can't display a Nativity scene in public or pray in school.

Note to liberals, If I can't use Christ's image then you can't either! I don't go to church and I'm not sure if it is more harmful then helpful in the end, but quit being completely hypocritical at every turn and maybe I can begin to take what you are saying as something resembling fact.
