once fossil fuels run out, whats the alternative to nuclear

there are plenty of alternatives. They include solar, wind, hydro, and many more that are just begining to be developed. For instance, a father and sun in Italy have recently developed a car that runs on air! The air is decompressed in the car, so it is not used up, and actually comes out cleaner than it comes in! There are also cars that run on water, and other forms of chemical energy. However, many/most of these alternatives are not yet cost-efficient, so they are not yet ready for the human market.

There isn't an alternative to nuclear that can provide the total amount of continuous power we need to run the economies of the world. Solar, wind, geothermal, etc. are all very limited in some respect.

For starters our coal reserves will not run out for a very long time. Thus one alternative to nuclear energy is to burn coal, collect the carbon, and sequester it underground.

There are also many renewable energy alternatives - wind both on land and in the sea, solar, hydro, wave energy, geothermal, etc.

Nuclear is the safest and environmentally friendly resource for energy. And, since Fusion Generators are not made yet Nuclear is the best and safest source. It is human error which makes it dangerous.

Define your terms. We have coal for at least 200 years. Bad choice, but it's there.

As for nonpolluting sources, we have only wind right now, and it's not yet up to the capacity of nuclear. I happen to dig nuclear, even while favoring development of wind, solar, geothermal, tidal, etc.

Why don't we all just be Amish and and simply refuse to use electricity, get up at 4am, feed goats, milk cows, and bake pies for the rest of our lives?

Realistically, there isn't any. Wind and solar photovoltaic are popular, but neither is economic at present prices.
