Yeah I agree it's ridiculous. The amount of lighting they used could've powered hundreds of homes. Not to mention the fact that every performer had to drive or fly to the venues, as well as the audience. Way too much extra energy was used.

So many people fail to so the simple truth of this farce no mater how clearly you point it out to them. You are right Global; warming is a farce.
RKO said "Go to the library and get the June, 2007 issue of National Geographic magazine with the "Big Thaw" feature story on its cover. Show your cousin Page 61, and read what it says about global warming. Maybe that will convince your cousin to care more about the delicate balance between all men, plants and animals on this planet."
I suggest you go back even further to the early seventies when "all the scientists agreed that the earth was getting cooling and we were headed for another Ice Age".
Yes the temperature of the planet is rising, but so is the temperature of the rest of the planets in the Universe. So tell me are we humans responsible for the climate change on those planets as well? The first clue that there is a problem with the whole global warming theory is that we are being told there is a consensus of "a majority of scientists". Do the research and you will find that there are just as many if not more that say this is nothing more than a crock of sh**. It ain't real folks.

Sigh. 'Live Earth' has a link that explains all that went into conserving for the concert. I saw part of the concert and it was a lot more 'low-key' (electric-wise) than any concert, other than acoustic, that I've ever seen to begin with. I know solar power was used and there were recycling bins all over the place.
I even heard a news report devoted Io the fact the artists were concerned about all the resources that needed to be involved and discussed what they could possibly do to use as little as possible. They even are trying to decide what can be done in the future to lessen the wasteful energy used.
Many people who attended either used hybrid vehicles or car-pooled.

Dont you like music??
sounds more as if you are off you rocker
dont you remember woodstock ,
that changed a lot of peoples attitudes
and this is much bigger
we cannot have enough exposure to raise Environmental awareness .
Many people will be affected
Al Gore Mentions 2 billion
That is a lot more than the crowds that Jesus pulled
You may not agree with Al Gores aproach in his movie ,but the results are all positive
Many people agree that because of that they have become aware that there even is a problem ,and decided to investigate further or even change their lifestyle a bit
this is all good,
And these concerts will do a lot more, and world wide
Bringing Global warming into the focus of the masses .
The effects of Woodstock rippled on for decades changing atitudes that persist with many people who are in power today .
A changed mentality with the youth today means changes with control tomorrow
At least in theory
if a quarter of the people make changes it will have been worth it

Yes some resources were used for the concert. But it is very important that the people of the world become educated about the reality of the climate crisis, and that we can indeed change it.

Best question of the day. It will take planting over 100000 trees to offset the damage the Live Earth did to the enviroment.
