Absolutely, because it doesn't emit any carbon. Unfortunately, cold fusion is at least 50 years or more away-- if possible at all.
We have only about 20 years before we hit the so-called tipping point in global warming.
Conventional fission nuclear power is also carbon-free, but many environmentalists are worried about the nuclear waste generated by spent fission fuel.

Another rock group with megawatt amplifiers? Kidding.
No, even if we had "cold fusion", which I have never seen proven, it would just be adding more total energy to the pie. Kinda sorry I did not buy a book on it when 73 magazine was selling how to do it in a glass of water on your kitchen sink...but I did not think $25 on a hoax was a good deal.
The energy would have to go somewhere, and end up being degraded into heat, and more heat released into the atmosphere will not cool the Earth's surface.
Of course, unless it somehow tips the balances and pushed us into the next ice age. I have never seen what tips the balances and pushes the Earth into the rapid global cooling that dumps us into the next 90,000 years of deep freeze.
This tipping does very much distinguish us from Venus, contrary to the many references I see in connection with "Global Warming" that they are the same, and the Earth's fate will soon be to be like Venus, unless we immediately .... (fill in the dots!)
Struck me the other day, if Mars is warming up, maybe that is what triggered the huge dust storm there, like I keep hearing the warning we will have the world's hugest hurricanes soon unless we get those carbon credits into the right hands and pockets!!
But you know, if Cold Fusion went into a chain reaction, it would melt the Earth down, and then we would be in Global Cooling for many millenia! We need to suggest this to Mr. Gore.
Finally, since in known history every period of Global Warming is a time of prosperity, as man spreads out and digs each in his own garden, why are we just now so very very afraid of it? Who loses out in times of peace and prosperity? Think on that.

No. If it does work (and that's a big if although we do still have some promising leads on the idea) then it's technology that is at best 50 years away and more likely 100. If it works. We need solutions to be implemented now to see a shift away from potential disastorous future climate scenarios. Nuclear fission is NOT the answer - for a start it's not sustainable since if we switch most of the power to fission we'd quickly run out of fissionable material (in less than 50 years it's estimated), also there is nuclear waste to consider (takes alot of energy and resources to dispose of and still is a risk plus a security problem), massive use of water, security risk from the power plant, etc.
Geothermal power is superior to nuclear in every way - it is sustainable for thousands of years, cheaper than nuclear, doesn't produce nuclear waste, doesn't use massive amounts of water and land, doesn't pose a security risk and is acheviable easily with current, existing technology. If even 1/10th of the money being spent on fission power were spent on improving geothermal power technology then it would currently be cheaper to generate electricity with it than it would be to burn coal. Unfortunately in real terms spending on alternative energy sources by governments has halved since the 1980s, given our current situation this is pure madness.

There is no such thing as "cold fusion". There is no need to put an end to a perfectly natural global process.

No, because I do not think cold fusion will work. Everywhere in the universe that we see fusion happening it is very hot and energetic
