Now I've not really caught onto this whole global warming, 'zero emmisions' fad that's currently on a few people's lips. But is it me or does everyone stop going on about it when it rains and as soon as the sun comes out and it's a lovley hot day everyone goes off on one about how we're ruining the earth...!?
I'm saying this as where I live, England, we're going through what could only be described as the wettest and most boring summer ever and no one's saying anything on the news and all the adverts have come off the tv!!

What can I say? Human beings are idiots, and will destroy the Earth through innumeracy.
Global warming is a slow process. The rate of increase is about 0.03 C/year, and is, therefore, much less than the natural variation in global average annual temperature. Even though global warming is a real process, it is statistically quite likely that even the global average annual temperature could decline for 5 years in a row.
Nevertheless, the inexorable 3 C increase in the coming century will be a disaster, leading to mass extinctions and quite possibly the death of most human beings.

There has been climate related proof that will shut up the global warming crowd for good in 10-15 years.
There is more conclusive proof that there will be worldwide cooling of 10 degrees by the #1 expert on climatology.
(Btw, there really is only two on the whole planet who are experts on climate and neither support most of the 'global warming' b.s.

Yes, I've noticed that people complain about global warming on hot days and wish for it on cold days. But of course the entire planet doesn't warm up evenly all at once. In fact, one effect of a warmer planet will be more extremes in the weather, including more rain some places, more snow in others, even while deserts are growing and the seas are rising. Hopefully we can stay focused on the problem despite temporary variations in the weather.

You're seeing a lot of backpedaling going on, frantic excuses, and total dismissing of anything that doesn't fit their preconceived notions of what the data should be.
The truth that you can not use localized weather to gauge global climate is never more evident when that weather doesn't support their argument.
Now, we have folks claiming that the GLOBAL (average) temperature increase will lead to random local weather extremes. Totally unfounded and utterly ridiculous.

plants remove co2 that nature gives off, but human activity gives off 5-10% as much as nature each year, which plants do not take back, leading to a buildup of co2 and a disruption of the equilibrium concentration in the atmosphere that has lasted for millions of years.
