I know we will probably fail in the mission unless the US and China agree to cut CO2 emissions, but do you feel you are doing your part, or could you be doing more?

Has everyone heard about this Live Earth Concert, sporting names like the Police, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers? As organized by Al Gore in 7 cities around the world, and meant raise awareness of global warming and climate change. So then you have all the attendees driving and flying to get there, having all their trash handy too, and only to listen to a bunch of celebrities talk about something so complex that they really have no idea what in the world they are talking about! Sounds like this should do more harm to the planet then good for it, but that's the opinion of this undergraduate meteorology major. Tell me, what do you think about this Live Earth Concert on Saturday, July 7th, 2007? Harmful or Helpful?

How can you say the world is going to end in 10 years because of carbon and then let a major manufacturer of carbon producing vehicles sponsor the event? Must not take it very seriously

I would like you to consider how much damage a fire makes,so everyone will understand and agree with the purpose of this petition.Hundreds of fires the moment we speak destroy our forests and animals that live there. This happens all around the world but this petition is made especially for Greece.Whoever lives in Greece surely knows what has happened the last days.A major number of fires destroyed so many forests which are our last sources of oxygen, but not everyone is responsible for this.So why should they suffer just because of others who do this surely with purpose? Please I ask every single one who reads this petition,no matter from which country he is,to help us DO something about it and give our planet a chance!I hope this petition will be taken into consideration from the competent and help save our forests from elimination.

Please sign the petition and help us save our forests!!

It seems like there are a lot of people out there who feel strongly about this issue but refuse to do their homework, are they really content getting their science from celebrities and Al Gore?

My colleagues & I have leased dereclict land from the city govt to raise crops for the production of bio-fuels. We are charged a peppercorn rent because the main aim is to address pollution in the city. Are there any grants out there to help a project such as ours?

Where I live, it is 120 degrees... we live in the desert. Our air conditioning doesn't really work that well in this heat. How do I keep myself cooler?

I listened to an interview with a climate modeller yesterday. In the very first climate models, the first inputs were solar irradiance, volcanic emissions, and sunspots. As we know, these natural contributions could not account for the acceleration in global warming since 1960.

http://www.cru.uea.ac.uk/cru/info/warming/

Once they input other contributions, they found that their models fit the global temperature measurements surprisingly accurately, with greenhouse gas emissions accouting for 70-95% of the warming over the past few decades.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Climate_Change_Attribution.png

Considering how complex the global climate and models are and how many degrees of freedom the models contained, it's very impressive how accurate they turned out. It's possible that they're wrong, but it would be highly unlikely for the models to fit the measurements better if the inputs changed.

So why do GW deniers claim that these climate models are unreliable?

I'm 19 and i'm in college. I'm workin in a warehouse where my partner is 20 years older than me. he always say that it's a blessing to live 41 years. He try to make me beleive that the fact that he's older than me, i have to agree with everything he says. sometimes he doesn't make no sense @ all but he always try to make it look like he's right!!! He's really negative. He tells me sometimes that not everybody who goes to college get a job. ( maybe he wants me to leave college and be like him) his daugter is 19 and she just got pregnant. Some times i think why would this guy tell me all those nonsense stuff while her daugther is having sex while he's @ work. I always tell hime that the fact that i'm 19 dosen't mean that i'll let him brainwash me!!! He's the kind of gguy who listens to what ever someone says and try to make it look like he's teaching me something. sometimes, i tell him not everybody know what they R talkin about. Please help me!! how can i make this guy happy?
