How do I recycle cans and bottles for money?

I want to start recycling cans and water bottles for money, but i dont know how much i can get for each can and each bottle. and where i can take the recyclables. answers anyone?

Prices vary for aluminum cans and bottles, depending on the market. Most recycling centers post a daily price. But, even if you DON'T earn any money, recycling is still worth the effort! I recycle everything; nothing except easily biodegradable food scraps get hauled away to a landfill (and that's only because my apartment complex won't allow composting). I REduce, REuse, and REcycle steel, plastics, aluminum, newsprint, glass, magazines, mixed paper, telephone directories, used cooking oil, cardboard, asphalt, computer parts, ink and toner cartridges, TV sets, tin, and styrofoam. I also 'recycle' old clothing, furniture, etc. by donating it to the Goodwill. Thank you for helping to save our planet by REducing, REusing, and REcycling! It depends on the State that you live in but you can take all your cans and bottles to the supermarket - most of them have recycling machines where you insert each can/bottle in for 5cents. If they do not have machines the store may just take them from you and give you 5cents (a lot of places give you a paper voucher for the money now, rather than the actual change) for each can/bottle, if they are recycleable. Otherwise, you can check out the recycling centers in your area, who may or may not compensate you for returning the cans/bottles.

they don't usually price by the can or bottle, its by weight. Check your phone book, or online for a local recycling company. then after collecting cans for a week, or a month depending on how much canned beverages you drink, go over there. They will weigh them and then give you the cash. Good luck!

there's recycling centers all around. Usually near a supermarket. Just bag them up and bring them there. Or some stores take what you buy back.

We take soda cans to a scrap yard. Right now the price for them is 36 cents a pound, at least in my state (NC)
Obviously, it takes a lot of crushed cans to make any money, but we collect them from our large extended family.

Look in your phone book for scrap yards in your area. They will tell you the price of whatever scrap you have and what their acceptance policies are.

It's done by the pound and varies by state. Usually between 3-5 cents/lb for cans, and less for plastic.
