You can SAVE our planet!!?

I would like you to consider how much damage a fire makes,so everyone will understand and agree with the purpose of this petition.Hundreds of fires the moment we speak destroy our forests and animals that live there.This happens all around the world but this petition is made especially for Greece.Whoever lives in Greece surely knows what has happened the last days.A major number of fires destroyed so many forests which are our last sources of oxygen,but not everyone is responsible for this.So why should they suffer just because of others who do this surely with purpose?Please I ask every single one who reads this petition,no matter from which country he is,to help us DO something about it and give our planet a chance!I hope this petition will be taken into consideration from the competent and help save our forests from elimination.

This planet is a lot older than humanity and will outlast us by billions of years. Forest fires are natural, lightning causes them all over the world all the time. While there is no excuse for intentionally setting a forest fir, or causing one by negligence, the idea such a fire is going to disrupt the ecosystem is incorrect.

The best thing we can do as a race is to stop smoking. Banning all forms of tobacco and all the other weeds mankind manages to burn for fun would result in tons of particulate not being released into the atmosphere, tons of gasses and poisons, millions of lives saved by reducing lung and heart disease, cancer and prevent a lot of the fires you're concerned about.

Not to mention the end of the tons of chemicals used to grow tobacco and marijuana, the waste of arable land that could be utilized for growing food and so on. Did I mention all the energy used in growing, delivering, processing and packaging these crops?

I bet that idea won't go over well in Greece.

What does this petition ask the government to do? All it says is you want them to do, "something about it". Do what? I am sure that arson (the intentional setting of fires to destroy forests or houses) is already illegal, and people who are caught doing it will go to jail for many years. What else is the government to do?
