And is this affected by other parts of Mars cooling or Venus cooling and does the fact that Mars has virtually no atmosphere, no life, no water and is incomparable to Earth have any effect?

And because NASA say the warming on parts of Mars isn't due to the sun and not related to warming on Earth does this mean that warming on Earth is due to the sun or could there be some other reason?

Can you help me out with this?

ExxonMobil are offering $10,000 (plus expenses) to scientists and economists who refute the latest IPCC report on climate change. http://environment.guardian.co.uk/climatechange/story/0,,2004397,00.html

All I need is some reliable evidence to refute global warming.

There's money to be made here so please come up with some good evidence.

The Average worldwide temperature has risen over the last 50 years.

The average temperature has remained the same over the last 100 Years.

The average temperature has dropped over the last 20 years.

I can choose a block of 100 years out of the laf few thousand and move it forward and backwards a few years and change the average temp up or down.

How can it be said the Earth is getting warmer with such inconclusive data?

If you are over 40, you remember the smog over our cities back in the 60's and 70's. the smogs properties reflected the suns rays back into space which in turn cooled the planet...now, no smog and it's getting warmer..seems to me we need more pollution than less of it if we want to cool the planet. now follow me closely folks..what if we turn all our earthly belongings over to the stalinist pigs over at the u.n. to save the planet..we will want results for our investments right? cooler days and all...Do you think it possible that algore and his ilk could start re-introducing all the "black particulate matter" into the air out of our sight to cool the planet just to keep taking in money? is it not plausible? please tell me how i'm wrong in this line of thinking.

I have heard you can use them as fertilizer for some plants, but I don't know which plants benefit from them. I want all ideas on recycling coffee grounds, not just for plants.

Greetings,

I remember reading in Discover magazine about the three gases that are believed to contribute or control climate change, but I have disposed of the issue.

Can someone tell me what those three gases were?

I believe two were carbon and methane, but what was the third? The article also contained a chart showing the relationship of the three throughout time, is it available somewhere online?

thanks

i remember growing up in the sixties and seventies, every major city was enveloped in smog and pollution, they are never like that now, perhaps l.a., but every city used to look like l.a. back then...and it was much cooler, ....hmmm. now wait a second, there was more smog back then and it was cooler, not much sun getting through....now, not so much smog and it's getting warmer....more sun getting THROUGH! OMFG! GET ME ALGORE ON THE HORN RIGHT FREAKING NOW!

With Nancy Pelosi declaring Greenland a global warming disaster, it brings to mind that the Vikings (or Norse) settled the region at least 600 years ago. Farming implements were found, suggesting the climate was quite warm back then.

If it was that warm in our recent history, why worry so much about today's warming trend?

I once read that synthetic oil can be manufactured from organic waste in garbage. If this is true, wouldn't we eliminate two problems (pollution, oil dependence) by increasing synthetic oil production?

How wrong is our society?
An infrastructure was in place in California. Everyone who owned one loved the car and didn't want to give it up.

The Automakers, the Government, CARB, Hydrogen Fuel Cells, and the Consumers all contributed to the death of the electric car.

Where do we go from here?

The 4/9/2007 issue of Time mag was a double issue on global warming, and had an article called "51 Things We Can Do." Thing #22 was becoming a vegetarian, #25 was purchasing local produce, and thing #39 was doing your own gardening. If you switched, even partially, to eating raw fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds, you would slow global warming by 1) reducing the 18% of the greenhouse gas emissions caused by the international meat industry, including the nitrous oxide and methane emitted by cows; 2) reducing the greenhouse gas emissions caused by transporting meat and produce; and 3) using less energy by not cooking. You would improve your health by 1) consuming the active enzymes in raw food that make digestion more efficient, 2) getting better nutrition that alleviates many health problems, 3) maintaining a healthy weight, and 4) not needing to eat so much because the high level of nutrition would curb your appetite. Would you try it? See http://youtube.com/watch?v=Re28fjJcUs8
