"The planet" is an awfully big item to destroy. Are we affecting our ecosystem and biosphere? Yes to the first and nobody knows to the second. Is Mother Nature destroying the planet? Well, the continental drift replaces what is consumed and new islands form from volcanoes under the sea. Could mankind destroy the planet? With all the nuclear weapons and all the destructive potential of all the weapons and armies in the world, they might wipe out civilization (as we know it), but they fall way short of killing the planet. And as can be observed after Mt. St. Helens and Chernobyl and Hiroshima and the Eniwetok Atoll, life returns--plant, animal and even us, eventually. You may want to rephrase your question. Sweeping generalities like that make a serious answer all but impossible.

Well what I have to say is our ancestors took advantage of the resources that are available to us. No one realized the damage that was being done until it was too late. But with better running cars, emission control on industries, recycling products, and working on ways to improve and reuse and replanting lumber sites we have improved the environment from what it used to be. New York is a prime example of reusing resources in the Green Buildings that are made of all recycled goods. Everything from the frame to the floors to the windows to the desk and the paper used are all recycled products. Some industrial companies are reusing their emissions in their process to reduce pollution and electrical and gas usage.
Everyone talks of global warming and the damage we are causing but what they do not tell you is that global warming has been happening since the beginning of time. They do not tell you the impact of all the improvements has had on improving the environment. They only talk about the negative because it is getting close to election time again. And people jump on the band wagon without knowing all the facts.

Yes, it is a problem. And every single one of us is reasonable. The reason why we are going though global warming is because human kind (yes us) have been taking advantage and being lazy. Think about it… people use to ride horses and walk to their destination but now we have cars because we don’t want to deal with horse ****, hay and blisters. We have washing-machines when we as humans use to wash cloths by hand… we have been very lazy and in turn created theology without consideration on how it would affect the planet. And again we are being lazy by not correcting our mistakes because that would mean we would have to reinvent everything (which to me seems very interesting and fun and a way to improve.. you never know we may be in eco-friendly flying cars if they try hard enough.)
The way to help is easy but all of us are too lazy to do them.
1) Turn off the lights when we don’t use them (oh, and change the light bulbs to CFL bulbs instead.)
2) Buy recycled paper.
3) Don’t buy poison products (although they are maybe just to wash windows but you can check)
4) Recycle everything you possibly can. I have 4 different garbage’s where they are needed the most. One is for paper (usually next to my computer) then there one for is tin cans, then there is one for plastics and then there is the normal garbage with stuff not recyclable. (all 3 of them are the kitchen)
5) Take 5 minutes of your day to voice it out. Tell people about it. Get your town to do something to help the planet. Do what ever you can.
Also check out this link, it has more how to’s and maybe even save you money while being eco-friendly ^_^

Not only are we, but so are animals & time.
We are destroying our planet by sending so much rubbish to the land fills & not recycling like we should. We take advantage of the ample amount of electricity, gas, and water...I could run out...you never know. We litter & pollute like it's going out of style...We drive too much...We think we have to have all the lastest electronics, and we have to have NEW clothes rather than consignment shops & yardsales(second hand). We clean with store bought cleaning chemicals, which are harmful to our planet. In general...we continuously buy things...therefore factories are continuously making things & that causes more pollution...We are just inconsiderate, selfish little brats who don't know how to take care of the one thing that should be most important(next to your salvation)...our planet.
Everyone needs to take a stand & do their part in conserving what we've got left...It's not that hard...My husband & I have been doing it for years...you should start....God bless

why
Why cant people accept what is happening to this planet ?
Why can't they accept that we humans have caused devastating destruction all over the planet .
my example is defforestation for land we humans r increasing population and neverthinks that how to find a place for living like India,China etc. and water wastage too and something i also want to add global warming changing climatic condition and air pllution, water pollutionand water pollution. I don't think so we can survive more than 200 yearsif things goes like that.

of course.we are destroying our forests for wood to build houses, furniture.
we burn most things or the shires do at there rubbish tips
send noxious fumes into the sky,
we use defoliants to destroy insects etc, which goes into our waterway ,poisoning our fish stock.
we kill our natural flora and fauna in the same way.
developers destroy all our natural wildlife who live in the bush, when they develop new communities, that's only a few,day by day we are destroying the earths, land and waterways

Yes, we all are guily of endangering the well being of mother earth. We pollute the air by using gases, and we litter, we release harmful chemicals into the air which tear away at out ozone layer. We are tearing down our natural habitats..like rainforests and such. We are running out of natural resources.

example #1, the boundary water area and much of canada's fish contains mercury, way the heck up there,do you know how it gets there?,well i will tell you, carbon particles attach themselves to ice crystals in clouds and these clouds can start anywhere and travel 1000's of miles before dropping there toxic contents.example #2,More than the exxon valdez oil spill is dumped into our oceans each week from runoff and industry and thats just america.example #3,on the average, each one of us gives off 9.5 tons of carbon emissions into the atmosphere each year, talk about killing the planet its in fast forward and we need to act NOW!! i cut mine more than in half just by simple things like recycle, get a scooter, wash clothes in cold water, trade in your light bulbs, thats just a few.......raven
