Why? Either Democrat or Republican? Politicians know next to nothing about these issues. Also, why are ANY skepticisms being crushed under the heels of these so-called Scientists who think they know everything? A TRUE scientist wants to see and hear every side, which is what the scientific method is based upon. So why is a scientist in Oregon, being FIRED simply because he does not wholly agree with the others? This sounds to me like the beginning of a totalitarian country and I cannot see even a ray of light at the end of this very very long pitch black tunnel. It is becoming extremely scary to me that the American people are listening to these politicians who only have their own agenda in mind, not excluding the republican party in the least. Do people really think that these fabulously rich and powerful men and women have OUR best interest in mind? We the people need to take control of our OWN destinies, and not let these windbags control them for us.

Don't say I'm naive, and don't say becasue we are. Just to let you guys know, globabl warming is a cycle that's been going on since the beginning of time. People say this time is more serious, but it is actually not as serious as times before. One volcanoe eruption puts out more CFC's then humans can release (by driving cars and using other fossil fuels) in a year. I just do not understand people like Gore, and where he is coming from. I am his next door neighboor in Nashville, TN and everyday when I see him, it makes me sick. He just comes out and makes his little tree-hugger movie "An Inconvient Truth" and then says that he's afraid to say he been proven right. He needs to get his facts straight becasue global warming isn't even a proven fact (I'm not denying it's happening, becasue it probably is). I know we are contributing to global warming but it's a natural cycle and it would happen without us (people say at a much slower rate, but not really). I just don't understand.

Should governments put more time effort and money into this? Should all the worlds university life science departments take part? Could this be a huge part of saving the world? Could working together on it help nations unite behind a common cause and overcome there diffrences?

in these wetlands there are beevers, redtailhawks, and many other wild life that live there, just because the tiny airport wants the trees cut down instead of topping them. they were told once before not to touch that area, but they will not listen. the tree company they hired went to vincentown, nj. municipal building for permints. is there anything that can be done before we loose more wet lands and wild life. thank you

I notice that not too many people in my neighborhood recycle. I find that it is a huge hassle to recycle, but I do it anyways. I'm looking for ideas that might make recycling a bit easier and more appealing.

If you don't recycle:
Does your city provide recycling bins at your home or around the city? For free, or at a cost?
What are the regulations for recycling in your area (do you have to clean out cans, remove labels, smash cans, etc?)
What could be done to make recycling more appealing to you?
Is there easy access to information on the recycling program in your area?
Would you be more inclined to recycle if some type of reward or payment was offered?

If you do recycle:
Why do you do it?
Do you find it somewhat convenient? Or is it a hassle?
What materials are you able to recycle?

Why does he go on preaching about helping the environment if he uses 20 times the amount of fossil fuels as the next guy? His defense was that he gives, like, half of his income to this company that does things to help the environment. That's supposed to make up for that? The damage is already done. He can't undo the amount of energy he wastes by giving money. Oh, and here's where it gets interesting. He owns the company he gives money to! He's paying himself! He is a scum, in my opinion. I used to like him. Where does he get off?
