Try being resorceful, use energy saving equipment, use public transport, switch of TVs, Comps etc when not in use don't leave them on standby, don't leave taps running. Every small thing helps.

I disagree with your Uncle Pete, the planet doesn't wait for you to grow up before you make any negative impact. Do lots of little things to add up to a significant help to the environment.
Make sure that you never use unnecessary energy, switch off all lights when you don't need them, switch off the tap if you are brushing your teeth. These are ways to reduce your carbon emissions, but at the same time there is also the problem of worldwide resources, which needs to be addressed.
Do not simply think that recycling will solve all your problems, this makes adds to carbon emissions. You have to use less, so use less paper when you are writing, re-use plastic bottles (after checking that there is no health risk), and type in a smaller print if you are printing out something to try to stop using unnecessary paper.
You can try to be a lot more green using as many of these methods as you can, and more if you can find any from friends or government websites.
I hope this helps, mate.

I disagree with Uncle Pete. There are lots of things you can do at any age. You can walk places within a reasonable distance and not ask for rides. You can take shorter showers and let your hair dry naturally instead of blow drying it. You can turn lights off when you leave the room. You can turn your computer off when you aren't using it. You can run the dishwasher only when it is full of dirty dishes and not just 1/2 full. You can use re-cycled paper instead of paper made from new trees.
You are to be commended for thinking of this now. Starting now gives you that much more time to become aware of all of the things each of us does to use unneeded energy. Tell your Uncle Pete I said so!!

I'm so glad to hear that at your age, already you are conscious of what's going on around you. The world needs people like you.
Anyway, there are several things you can do. First, campaign to reduce, reuse and recycle things. Second, insist with your parents to use environment friendly products. For instance, you may use vinegar to clean your toilet bowl and other stuff. There are several biodegradable washing detergents which you can ask your mom to use around the house. Third, do experiments in school that promote environment protection. Fourth, when doing an essay, make it a point to relate your topic to the environment. Fifth, practice what you preach at all times. People do not tend to listen to what you say but always see what you do and how you act.

just do small things every day like recycling, but instead of waiting until you get a car to think about being green, you should be consciously thinking about it all the time.
