Why? Either Democrat or Republican? Politicians know next to nothing about these issues. Also, why are ANY skepticisms being crushed under the heels of these so-called Scientists who think they know everything? A TRUE scientist wants to see and hear every side, which is what the scientific method is based upon. So why is a scientist in Oregon, being FIRED simply because he does not wholly agree with the others? This sounds to me like the beginning of a totalitarian country and I cannot see even a ray of light at the end of this very very long pitch black tunnel. It is becoming extremely scary to me that the American people are listening to these politicians who only have their own agenda in mind, not excluding the republican party in the least. Do people really think that these fabulously rich and powerful men and women have OUR best interest in mind? We the people need to take control of our OWN destinies, and not let these windbags control them for us.

Well youve got something here,I chose to listen to my party because they hold the most beliefs to what I feel inside at my core, even though you can find good and bad in either party. It comes down to what each party stands for.The left is touting man made global warming and the small percentage of scientist they have to back it are not only trying to make a name for themselves, but keep and get more federal funding,by scaring people(cloak and dagger).Though both sides play at this game, the rights arguement against this is logical and I believe that man is arrogant to think he has that much power to make a substantial impact on the envoronment and physics to globally change the planet, short of nuclear worldwide war, from whence after time of such an event, the earth would raise life again

Some are listening to scientists, others politicians, some "god" and some are listening to no one because they are the stupid worthless human beings that don't deserve to enjoy this beautiful planet.
There is so much information out there that I don't blame anyone for being confused really, but the fact that all the top scientists in the world say that global warming is real, well hey what do we have to LOSE by believing it. I just don't get it.
I am not sure what you are getting at by asking this question, are you so interested in protecting big corporate interests over the earth, that you just choose to not believe it ? Or are you more driven by the desire to be wasteful and careless and this idea of making a few changes that could have a huge impact completely threatens your sense of "freedom"?
There are some respected scientists that say that climate change and global warming are different but not entirely independent things, but no one argues that the amt of co2's that are going into our air are making a huge impact.
Your comment about a totalitarian country is weak, in this instance we have one group of people saying "hey we need to take care of our planet" for reasons that are for the betterment of all then you have this other group that doesn't want to do it for some godforsaken reason that is beyond me ... do you think big business is out for your personal interest in any way? NOT.
Anyway here are some links of scientists and their views on global warming/climate change.
peace and curly light bulbs to you!

Nixon's term in office was significant for ecology. The reason was the grassroots or public were concerned about our dirty rivers and air. The clean water act and clean air act came into being during his presidency.

Today, G. W. Bush's term may top Nixon's with the change in direction of this country policy toward global warming.

The grassroots have declared it a problem. The politicians are following behind and those that do not get on this band wagon will be left without a job. We can not afford to increase our debt because of poor energy choices. We can not afford to put all our money into energy when there are other things this grand country must be doing.

I saw the rivers burning and we changed our ways. I have seen the polar bears dieing and it is time to change our ways again.

They don't listen to the politicians. They listen to the vast majority of climatologists, here and around the world.

Denying global warming is incorrect. Here's why.

There is a huge body of scientific data and analysis supporting the main things about global warming. It was produced by thousands of scientists working independently around the world. It all says the same basic things. Global warming is real, it's caused by us, and it presents an extreme danger to our well being.

The idea that 99% of the climatologists in the world are wrong, neglect obvious natural causes as possibilities, or fake the data to get money, or engaged in a massive environmentalist conspiracy, is just ridiculous.

Denying global warming in the face of this is like denying evolution, or that we went to the moon, or saying you have a perpetual motion machine. It's not scientific. It's an "evil conspiracy" theory that has no basis in fact. Major Republican political leaders, including McCain and Bush, accept global warming as real. They don't get their science from Al Gore, they get it from the best scientists in the world. They've heard all the arguments on the other side, and they don't buy them. The US military is seriously making plans for dealing with worldwide chaos, if we don't reduce it.

The data disproving the alternative theories is all over the web. Here's one place where a little of it is collected:

http://info-pollution.com/warming.htm#WEB

Here's the accepted truth about global warming, with major data backup, and having gone massive review. It's actually very conservative, the majority of scientists think global warming will be worse. But this is what thousands of climatlogists all accept as true.

http://www.ipcc.ch/SPM2feb07.pdf

It's understandable why some people deny it. It's similar to other things they (generally conservative) hear from people they don't like (liberals and environmentalists). It's scary because it demands that we work hard to reduce its' effects. But global warming is reality. Denying reality is done all the time by people. But it's a very dangerous way to live.

of course you ought to not hear to Al Gore. That has been my component maximum of situations in this board while human beings attack him and anticipate which you're attacking worldwide climate substitute thought. Gore is in simple terms providing the case made with the help of the overpowering majority of scientific records (no longer some scientist). some scientist, frequently funded with the help of oil and coal industry, have provided information against climate substitute thought. What yo could desire to do is study the records for your self and then settle on. Dont in simple terms hear to anybody on the two component of the debate. think of for your self! What Gore has finished is dumbed down climate substitute thought and provided to the standard public with the help of the only means they understand...television/video clips... that's a solid subject provided that human beings dont study or choose to study. and because maximum of you skipped bio one 0 one once you have been on your frats....you cant understand the technology in the back of it any way. so which you hear to the people who say what you decide directly to hearken to (specifically, each and every little thing is okay, save ingesting), you're taking it as actuality and attack anybody that even tricks which you will ought to alter your existence style.

They are laying the groundwork to remove more of our freedoms to "save us" from the horrible global warming. The next step will be more government control over everything to avoid "catastrophe". All of the responses here prove this theory. They want to tell the rest of us what to do because they are so enlightened. I and many others refuse to believe this garbage and are rebelling at every opportunity. I WILL NOT recycle, change light bulbs, save water, or any of that other nonsense just because of you people. I am tired of you left wing enlightened wackos running my life.
