With our North and South poles unfrezzing caused by the global warming, could it be artificially developed to creat a "lake effect" in the areas that are unfreezing? Would that be able to maintain the artic areas that are vital to our planet?

Okay so the ideal solution would be to stop buying petrol full stop- if only I could, but I've been trying to figure out which source of petrol is the least.
With various environmental agencies asking us to boycott ESSO becuase of climate change, Shell because of human rights infringements in Nigeria, Total because it's Burmese owned, BP involved in human rights infringements in Colombia and Indonesia... is there anywhere I can buy petrol without feeling worse than I have to!!
Does anyone know anymore about where supermarkets source their petrol? Or any of the major retailers who include biothanol in their products?

I have been visiting lot of places across the globe and get surprised to see buildings with lot of Glass panes. Good exterior decor with lot of lights.. example recent Effiel Tower Power shutdown for 5 mins to demonstrate conserving energy.

I feel Glass gets heated faster and thus consumes more energy as Airconditioner will consume more energy to keep the same temp.

Exterior lights and decor are superficial. They provide majestic looks to oriental structures but still I feel now a days Architects are not educating their tenants about such things.

I can add a picture of an example if needed. I am sure everything that is recycled must be clean. I sometimes think it is more envirionmentally friendly to just throw somethings away rather than waste a lot of water clearning them out! Professional answers are preferred.

Since one cow produces as much gas waste as one human... if we eliminated the beef industry and everyone converted to a completely or atleast nearly complete vegetarian diet... the chance of our survival would increase, no?
